My self-summary
Slowly dipping my toe back into the possibility of meeting new folks (and it's pretty fun so far).

I'm a busy guy...I have a corporate drone job I actually like, I'm a writer, bicyclist, jogger (too slow to really be called a runner), blogger, reader, foodie, wino, homebody, motorcyclist and explorer.

I like to laugh which makes me wonder if anyone DOESN'T like to laugh, but then I see so many non-smiling profile pictures. What's that about?

I'm in decent shape and getting slowly decent-er, although I admit it's more about resisting the rising tide of age and infirmity than about how I look in the mirror (although that's getting better too, I'm told).

The guys who curl my toes are usually slimmer than me, from 35 - 45 years old, not much into any scene (bears, bars, whatever), are a little introverted and pretty confident. I'm also completely open to being surprised by stuff other than that.
What I’m doing with my life
What I'm doing with my life? Goodness...heavy stuff.

I find that the folks talking most about work/life balance are those who don't have it. I like my work, but my days of climbing corporate ladders are over (at least for the time being).

I'm spending time with friends, exploring art, and generally trying to just have fun.
I’m really good at
Hmmm...I'm really good at Slam Poetry, I'm relatively good at cooking, I'm really good at communicating, I'm really good at parallel parking, I'm really good at making oatmeal, I'm really good at setting boundaries, I'm really good at my job.
The first things people usually notice about me
My beard, I'm told. I was all insecure when my beard went gray, but it's apparently not a bad thing. People also notice my laugh. Sometimes it's a loud laugh (damn thing). If I'm on my motorcycle people notice my chaps, which mostly makes me laugh since they imply a lifestyle choice as opposed to implying that I'm riding a motorcycle.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books: Lord of The Rings (I'm a huge LoTR geek. Seriously), The Poisonwood Bible (Kingsolver), The Mists of Avalon (Zimmer-Bradley), Flesh and Blood (Cunningham), plus tons of other fantasy novels by Mercedes Lackey, Frank Herbert, Patricia McKillip, Robert Jordan (RIP), George R.R. Martin (Please finish the story, George. Please) and Raymond Feist to name just a few.
Movies: Lion in Winter, X-Men movies, so many others...
Music: Folk music...mostly chicks with guitars: Indigo Girls, Brandi Carlile, Patty Griffin, Girlyman and on and on and on
The six things I could never do without
It turns out my iPhone is pretty damned handy, although it's embarrassing to admit it. My motorcycle, although in Seattle I mostly just look longingly at it in the non-summer. My bicycle, although it sits unused next to the motorcycle a lot. My friends.
