I am addicting, imaginary, and absurd.
My Self-Summary
HEY!!!! Glad you made it! This is your lovely chance to invade my
privacy. Luckily I don't care. My name's Ori. I don't really live
in Austin... though I love Austin, and keep coming there, and will
probably be there for a long time starting in December- maybe
settle there (or at least make it HQ)
I'm pretty damn unique. I've learned that, and if you look through
this profile, and photos, you'll figure out it's most likely true.
Not unique like those kids that win the special olympics... but
more like a unicorn with a sense of humor. I inspire a lot of
people, and I want someone that inspires me! So... now that I'm
almost 33, I am feeling pretty damn unstoppable, and KNOW that I
can do anything... I would just like to find another person who's
unique like me. If you're adventurous, funny, good looking, smart,
and patient... read on. If you hate your life, go be miserable
elsewhere. I'm looking for happiness, and I've cut a lot of the
depressing people out of my life. If you hate your job- change it,
or find a way to make your job enjoyable. I feel super-blessed to
have my life, and I'd like someone who enjoys their life, does the
things they want now (not just "some day"), is not lazy.... Rant
aside-- if you read my profile, and feel that a life of adventures
and laughs are your thing.... Message me. I'm loyal to my gal (When
I find her), but I'm always excited about meeting exciting,
interesting, and inspiring people.
I change based on my mood, but the consistent part is
humor and wit.
I'm smart, and can figure things out quickly. I'm creative, and
need to make the occasional (often digital)
art. I'm
ENTP on the Myers-Briggs test. Strong
family values for me and my match (don't let that confuse you into
thinking I'm some kind of conservative! How'd they get to dominate
"Family values" - I just mean I call my folks up every day or 2 to
let them know I'm still alive). I'll always make you
laugh, even when you don't
want me to. I need to
travel or
adventure once in a while - Spent 2007
traveling by "who's couch am I crashing on next?" I cherish
experiences that make you feel like you're alive (or is the term
"
adrenaline
junky"?)- I've traveled, met interesting people, jumped out of
planes, jumped off of cliffs, ate exotic substances, been to
burning man.
I'm a bit of a workaholic, and I sometimes forget the world exists.
It would almost seem bipolar, working 36 hours in a day, then
taking off on a
kayaking trip. Not that that's the
norm- I wake up, go to the
gym,
eat healthy'ish, work. I value hanging out
time with friends I respect. I'm new'ish to Atlanta (When I'm even
in town), and I think I'm trying to figure out who my crowd is. It
may just be you. Other things to know- I hate watching team sports.
I don't drink like I used to- would rather drink at home with
friends, than pay lots of money at a place I can't hear my friends
(or you) talk. I like
talking, I like
hearing interesting
stories. I like surprises. I like to surprise. I blaze
occasionally. I love to
laugh- if you are witty and can make me
laugh, you're in! I look for ambition in people, but I've learned
that I shouldn't push my beliefs (we're talking motivation / work /
success type things- not religion. Don't push yours on me, and I
won't push mine on yours) on others. I will not stand for people
making excuses for their dreams. I'm a bit (*sigh* suppose it's a
big bit) messy. I hope to meet someone that likes to
adventure,
stay in,
debate,
learn, laugh, stand up for themself, get
physical, get dirty (like playing in the mud... I don't know that I
have any crazy fetishes... but I did say I'm adventurous, right?).
I shoot models on occasion, or travel on occasion - you must be
secure with yourself... models are just people.
Must have your own opinions! Currently, I'm a photographer,
marketer, web designer, and artist. Since I just wrote "artist" and
saw the summary tips, I should add " Oh, I just love
music and
mushrooms - mmmm - and the movie
Amelie.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a jack of all trades. I'm an adventurer. I'm an avid learner.
These days I'm living near Atlanta, GA. I work from home doing
whatever I feel like. It often revolves around
creative problem
solving and
design. Things like
marketing, web site design, print
design (business cards, ads), copywriting, and the like. I am
pursuing some larger projects to both make more money, and make a
larger impact on the world. I like money, I don't spend it all that
often, and I don't like to think about it. I'm working my ass off
so I can get back to traveling and adventuring. After a recent
breakup I realize that I'd like to have a family some day soon'ish.
Mostly these days I work, work out, and learn.
Let's see if this thing works--- Some of my art that I enjoy doing
(usually when I'm trashed, bored, or "in a mood"):
Some of my
art
I’m really good at
I'm great at being goofy! I don't like being "normal" - I like to
climb on things, jump off of things, tell stupid jokes, liven up
the scene. I'm great at Photography & Photoshop, and teaching
people how to do those. I'm very good at learning. I'm very good at
creative problem solving. I'm good at understanding people. I'm
great at cheering people up, or coming up with incredibly powerful
solutions to problems: personal, business, etc... it's just more
creative problem solving.
The first things people usually notice about me
People often notice my looks first as I approach - I often wear
funny shirts (like one that has a camera, and says "I shoot
people"), comfortable slippers, I have shoulder-length hair, and
I'm often smiling with my mouth and my eyes. Once I Start talking
they notice that I'm pretty funny, and pretty informed about many
many things... then they notice that I can talk for hours.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
As far as movies, I'd have to say my favorite ones are:
Gattaca -- the ultimate triumph of the human soul and doing what
you want.
Fight Club -- we all have that alter ego that wants to destroy the
credit bureaus and give up all that materialistic crap.
Office Space - I've never been corporate. I can't take it. This
movie shares my vision about the futility of the corporate
job.
5th Element
(meet) JOE DIRT!
Requiem for a Dream (with no sharp objects nearby)
Heavy Metal
Hardcandy
TV- I'm getting back into watching it after a long long long
stint... but I always enjoy comedy:
Robot Chicken, Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad (yes, I
know these are all animated. I learned English by watching
cartoons, and I'm a walking-talking cartoon - deal with it).
Scrubs, Gray's Anatomy (1st season- didn't have the patience after
they had such a lame season finale). Sci-fi stuff! Like Heroes, The
4400 (which I shall miss. Fuck you writers and your damn strikes!
You killed my show!).
As far as books, I'm a huge fan of Michael Chricton's. I love
sci-fi, and I love well written books that draw you in, such as Dan
Brown's novels. I spend a lot of time listening to (audio books...
faster than reading, and I can do it while I drive / jog / work
out) marketing books, and biographies. My recent favorites are Tim
Ferriss's "The 4 Hour Workweek" and Sir Richard Branson's "Losing
My Virginity" -- both of which are extremely inspiring. I like the
motivational guys--- Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill (not Dynamite you
dork!), Brian Tracy, Jim Rohn, and so on... Recently, instead of
marketing (based on my older bro's advice) I've started reading up
on relationships instead: John Gray (Mars/Venus), etc..
Food- I just love food. Prime rib is a guilty pleasure. A good rich
pasta. Israeli food, since I'm from Israel. I don't like salad
/vegitables. I do like fruit. I have a sweet tooth. The massive
quantities of coffee I drink have sugar in them (incentive to work
out, right?). As I age I seem to like spicier food - I'm a huge fan
of Thai food and Indian food. Mexican food is starting to lose the
novelty- although good food is good food.
Here's a stupid video I made in 2000 - my survivor audition, done
Ori style (as are clearly the photos).
My 2001 Survivor Audition
The six things I could never do without
This is a lame question! I mean - you got food, oxygen, fluids,
rest, gravity, and the sun's light (we'd all freeze to death
without it).
Before putting that sentence, I had lame stuff like:
internet/ipod/humor/friends/and my computer. But.... I mean....
give me a break... if I'm stranded on a desert island, who gives a
shit about a computer, or an ipod... how are you going to generate
power for them? We're a strong species... we adapt. If you put me
on a desert island, I will make a hammock, make survival tools, try
to find other humans around, make shelter, and then try to create
some writing tools, and some musical instruments.
Right now, people think I can't live without my computer and cell
phone-- but if I win the lottery, it's all being invested, I'm
living off the internet... and good luck getting a hold of me! I'll
take my cameras, and go travel the world... the non-tourist route.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I often think about traveling and adventures -- where would I go
next? What would be cool to do? What have I not done yet?
I also spent (too much) time thinking about business and marketing
- since I spend so much time studying it, I always think of new
uses for it, and I am a bit of a workaholic.
Recently, I've been spending time thinking about what it'd be like
having a wife and kids to share my adventures and life with.
On a typical Friday night I am
"What's typical" - *sigh* so many people used that answer, that I
have to write something more ORIginal. I'll often be working...
studying... watching comedy... adventuring.... making art...
eating... breathing...
I've gotten fed up with the cost of going out, and I get bored
easily... doing the same things week after week bores me. I do like
to spend time with close friends and more so with the person I'm
dating. So, while I'm passionate about my work, taking break to go
bowling, or watch a movie, or play some board games with some
friends is welcome.
I suppose if I had that special someone, I'd probably be spending a
bunch of time making them laugh and forget the world exists :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm pretty shameless- what do you want to know?
When I was a kid I got caught shoplifting, spray painting the mall.
I've eaten mushrooms, tried LSD, salvia, weed, Ketamine. I wanted
to be a veterinarian when I was a kid... I've realized that I've
had some incredible relationships, and have sabotaged them because
of a fear of commitment, or the need to be right (Things I'm
working on-). I'm a little self-centered. Deep beneath my goofy
exterior, I do have feelings, and even a serious side. I think I
will have hairy ears when I'm old. I don't want to die alone. I can
cook, but I hate cleaning.
You should message me if
You should message me if you like to laugh, if you think that
"normal" can be a bit boring, if you like to spend time with
someone that can make you forget about the world, like to travel,
are not looking for a sugar-daddy, like to have discussions for the
heck of it, are intelligent (I think humor is a sign of
intelligence), have patience, are pretty, and care about your
health. I take kindly to people that are truly interesting. I'd
like to meet someone who's crazy and adventurous like me. If you
and your pictures are goofy like me and mine, we'll probably get
along.
