My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well this seems corny but...

I am an eclectic, fun loving, sometimes silly, and passionate person. I enjoy having fun (but who doesn't), sports, volunteering, singing, movies, adventures, and dry humor.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I teach high school Biology, Environmental Science, and Theology at a small Catholic school. I have aspirations of becoming an administator and I am starting a M.Ed. degree in educational leadership in the fall. Oh yeah, and I'm also athletic director at my school.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Well my Mother says nothing, but I'm still optimistic.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Because I live in Boston but am a native of New York, one might first notice my NY Yankees, Giants, or Rangers apparel. And by "first notice" I mean swear at, but that's the risk I take!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Well this list could go on and on.... (A very abbreviated version here.)

Books: This list is really, really long so we can just talk about it!

Movies: Catch Me If You Can, Rudy, Footloose, Miracle, The Departed, Saving Private Ryan, Aladdin, Despicable Me, My Cousin Vinny, Office Space, Atonement, Gone Baby Gone, Love Actually....And on and on and on

Music: Jack's Mannequin, Mumford and Sons, The Swell Season, The Bee Gees, Patsy Cline, The Beatles, Cartel, Michael Buble, Kate Nash, Ingrid Michaelson, Snow Patrol, Childish Gambino, Adele, Phil Collins, Barry Manilow, Queen, Usher, Billy Joel, Kimbra, Josh Groban, Madonna, Mika.... And on and on and on because as you can see there is no pattern to my taste

TV Shows: Community, Arrested Development, Boy Meets World, 30 Rock, Seinfeld, Friends, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Newsroom, Downton Abbey, The Office, Happy Endings

Shows (Not TV): I am very much into Broadway and musicals... it is a very guilty pleasure. Some of my favorites are Memphis, Once, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Spring Awakening, Book of Mormon, Rent, and Putnam County Spelling Bee. I can be caught singing these in the car or shower on a pretty regular basis.

Food: I am not a picky eater with the exception of a few very limited items. I don't like mashed potatoes (weird, I know), canned tuna fish, or stuffing. Thanksgiving is not my holiday but other than that I am very adventurous with food and love to try new things.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order and not including necessities such as family, friends, shelter, and food...

1.) Sports-- I love watching (and sometimes playing, but I find myself uncoordinated.) I am an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and the New York Rangers. I attend games but also try to watch on TV when I can. When I can't, I am obsessing on ESPN.com.

2.) Coffee and Diet Coke (So much so that my students can tell when I haven't had my morning coffee.)

3.) Online News-- I am a junkie, I admit it.

4.) Imgur, Reddit

5.) To-Do lists and Post-It notes

6.) Spending time volunteering
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about the future, how I wish I was a better cook, wondering if people understand my sarcasm, cursing myself for not getting more sleep the night before, and how to inspire my students to love science. Also, other things such as what time is too early for a glass of wine or a beer, I wish I had a pet puffin, is the amount of freezie pops I consume healthy, why people don't love board games as much as I do, and I would love to have Tina Fey as a friend.

Also things that run rampant through my brain... The age old question of whether you would rather fight 1 horse sized duck or 100 duck sized horses?...I think the choice is obvious there.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Thinking about world domination, Pinky and the Brain style.

Contemplating whether I should put on a dress and go out, just hang with friends, drink free wine at my Uncle's, or stay home snuggled up with a good book or movie. It is a weekly internal struggle but usually every Friday is different.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I saved the life of the man that J. Cash shot in Reno.
