My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an educated, happy, caring man. Some even say I'm funny. Like really haha funny. You can be the judge.
I still haven't reached that point in my life where its all about me - I probably never will. I love my friends and family and will do anything I can for them. Seriously, anything. They know it and feel the same about me.
I am friends with almost all my exes. I don't get seriously involved with anyone I wouldn't want to be friends with, so it tends to pass that when things change there is mutual respect. There have been a few exceptions.
I suffer from the jack-of-all-trades master of none complex. I'm interested in constantly learning new things, so I try lots of new things - you only live once so learn all you can and make the best of it! Definitely a bit of a gadget geek - I still love toys. Sports are on the agenda, both doing and observing - I'm a runner, occasional triathlete and CrossFitter.
Most people I meet are shocked to hear I am my physical age. I take it as a compliment to my good genetic heritage, but it can also get a little annoying. I like to joke & have fun, and I also happen to be serious, reflective and prone to bouts of self-analysis and introspection. For those personality bucket people (isn't it just a glorified Hogwarts sorting hat ceremony??), I have taken Meyers-Briggs professionally and for fun more than a few times. I alway end up either INTJ or ENTJ, depending on my mood. Recent research suggests I am an "ambivert"... Finally, I don't want to spend a lot of time texting prior to meeting. That's kind of the point right? The meeting? So if you message me or respond to one of mine, do me a solid & let's do something already.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I currently work in a brewery (I love beer) & enjoy being part of an amazing community of scholars, craft & business-minded people. I am big on health & life improvement - in all it's forms - but my focus has been on disease mitigation through fitness & nutrition in my career. And it keeps me motivated. As far as a brewery... well, life can't be ALL work & no play. I'm pretty busy - helping to grow a business takes time. But always looking to share!
*UPDATE* I left the brewery to pursue interests in web development/media. I missed this in my life, and I like the potential to be anywhere and make a living with only a laptop & a backpack. I also seem to integrate best professionally with creative/nerd/tech types. I'm currently in an intensive bootcamp. 6-days a week, 12+hours a day. I don't have a lot of time to date, but summer is coming! And there are lots of things to see and people to meet!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Working hard, reading people, listening & learning, selling things I believe in, lifting heavy things, running reasonably fast for a long time, going fast on my tri bike, climbing mountains carrying a lot of weight, making you laugh (I'm sort of shy to reveal my 110% humor speed right away - better to get to know you before you meet the court jester;)), seeing the big picture but being able to get dirty and into the weeds, writing, coming up with creative solutions to problems, writing stories & imagining movies in my head (and then editing them), pondering dreams, grilling, making breakfast and cleaning (unfortunately).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Either the hair, beard, arms or ass. All seem to get comments in equal measure.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Cryptonomicon, Pillars of the Earth, The Diamond Age, Anathem, Age of Spiritual Machines, and Rich Dad Poor Dad of recent memory. All great.
Movies: All time fav - Blade Runner.
Make me laugh my ass off: anything by Jud Apatow. Funny, funny man.
Music: I like it all. Seriously - I love music and listen to almost every genre. 'Pop' country would be my least favorite.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Human contact, good food, mountains, exercise, the ocean & family.

But who's counting?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The meaning of life & how I fit in this big bad world. How I got where I am, how I'm going to get where I want to go, etc., etc... My brain is in constant motion. Minute I wake up until the minute I sleep & everything in between.
Oh, and good food & drink.
Epicurus anyone? "I have never wished to cater to the crowd; for what I know they do not approve, and what they approve I do not know."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working or spending time with my friends or family. What that looks like depends on the day.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm pretty much an open book. Ask what you want.

You're passionate about a healthy lifestyle (food, being active and open to new experiences, and being happy with being happy) - but accept that I am NOT a vegetarian. Believe that the best way to take care of yourself is take care of your health; you. I believe you can't be mentally healthy without being physically healthy to the best of your ability - and once you have both physical and mental health, you win. Right?? Right.
But hell, I'm not perfect either :)
