My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My friends would describe me as artistic, intelligent, playful and positive. I have an irreverent sense of humor (almost became a cartoonist at one time). Open minded, flexible and very supportive of those I'm close to... interested in the news, politics, culture and technology; enjoy the visual arts, music, films, theater, photography and history. I love deep conversation that ranges from the mainstream to the eclectic; for me, communication, along with chemistry, make up the foundation for a real relationship.

I'm seeking the kind of woman who knows a little bit about a lot of different things... intelligent, wise, affectionate, articulate... down to earth and independent. She enjoys the arts, theater, loves film, has an interest in current events & politics, and relishes lively conversation.

I confess to being a big movie buff (major films, indie, foreign, cult, doc and anime). Enjoy the Hollywood Bowl, concerts, improv comedy and more. Crazy about the Getty museum (not just for the art, but for its architecture, the views, and people watching). Spiritual rather than religious. Politically liberal. Not big on sports, but I enjoy the Clippers along with watching the Olympics.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working by day and rediscovering my creativity at night. I originally studied fine arts and went into the entertainment industry. Eight years ago I changed careers and moved into marketing, and in my free time I've returned to painting. It's wonderful to recapture the passion I had years ago and see that my gift never left me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Painting in acrylics and watercolor, drawing caricatures of my friends, and candid photography. Love researching subjects on the internet (which was my favorite job in the film biz - working on the original X-Files Movie).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes and my smile. People have often given me compliments on my voice and said I should have gone into TV.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Biographies (just finished Alan Cumming's bio of growing up on a Scotish farm, a marvelous read), books on history, whatever catches my interest. Fascinated with the work of Malcolm Gladwell... everyone should read his 'David & Goliath'.

I love movies - a bit of everything. Favorites include Birdman, Whiplash, The King's Speech, It Happened One Night, Inception, Hotel Budapest, LA Confidential, The Descendants, Hugo, White Palace, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (the Swedish original version), Paris je t'aime, Good Fellas, Charlie Chaplin's At The Circus, The Best Years of Our Lives, The Quiet Man, The Searchers, Network, La Cage aux Folles, The Wild Bunch, The Big Country, Strangers On a Train, Spirited Away, Akira, and Seven Samurai. Music for me is Bach to Beatles. Springsteen, Lady Gaga, 60s & 70s rock, Scott Joplin rags, Saint-Saens, Bowie, Elvis, Creedence, ELO, and Randy Newman.

Love John Oliver & Bill Maher (I wish Jon Stewart hadn't retired); among my favorite TV shows - Mad Men, Better Call Saul, and Game of Thrones. The Turner Classic Movies channel. NPR radio - love Terri Gross' Fresh Air interviews and Garrison Keillor.

Food... I'm a vegetarian who still eats lots of other things - Thai, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and seafood. If you'd like to have a hamburger or steak, go right ahead, that's fine with me.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Can't I have Seven?
My family
My great friends
Good health
The beauty of nature
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Sometimes I think of the various journeys I've taken in life and what I've learned along the way. And how today's computers have affected the world, way beyond anything we could have imagined just ten years ago.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Spending the evening visiting my friends, where there's always lots of great conversation, and often winding up watching a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It wouldn't be private anymore if I wrote it here, would it?
