My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My friends would describe me as artistic, intelligent, down to earth, playful, and positive. My sense of humor is definitely irreverent (almost became a cartoonist at one time). I've always been open minded when it comes to other points of view, and very supportive of those I'm close to. I enjoy keeping up on the news and have many interests, including politics, the arts, Hollywood (where I worked for 20 years), history, and science. I love having stimulating lively conversation with my friends that range all over the map... I'm hoping to meet someone where we enjoy our company so much we can close down restaurants involved in deep conversation... to me that's part of a really great relationship.

I'm a huge film aficionado and I know a lot about movies and the industry. Enjoy theater, concerts, comedy clubs, and travel. Crazy about the Getty museum (not just for the art, but for its architecture, the views, and people watching). Spiritual rather than religious. Not big on sports, but I enjoy the Lakers & Clippers, along with watching the Olympics.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working by day and rediscovering my creativity at night. I originally studied fine arts and went into the entertainment industry. Eight years ago I changed careers and moved into marketing, and in my free time I've returned to painting. It's wonderful to recapture the passion I had years ago and see that my gift never left me.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Watercolor & acrylic painting, drawing caricatures, candid photography, and knowledgeable about cinema history. Expert at researching subjects on the internet (which was my favorite job in the film biz - working for the original X-Files Movie).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes and my smile. I've often gotten compliments on my voice and told I should have gone into TV.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Biographies (just started Alan Cumming's bio - it's fantastic!), books on culture, history, film. Most recent book was 'Steve Jobs'. Fascinated with the work of Malcolm Gladwell - just finished his 'David & Goliath'.

I love movies - a bit of everything. Favorites include The King's Speech, Inception, Hotel Budapest, LA Confidential, The Descendants, Hugo, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (the Swedish original version), Paris je t'aime, Good Fellas, It Happened One Night, Charlie Chaplin's At The Circus, The Best Years of Our Lives, Inherit The Wind, Foreign Correspondent, The Quiet Man, The Searchers, 7 Days In May, Frankie & Johnny, Network, La Cage aux Folles, The Wild Bunch, Fistfull of Dollars, The Big Country, 2001, Forbidden Planet, Strangers On a Train, Chinese Ghost Story, Spirited Away, Akira, and Seven Samurai. Music for me is Bach to Beatles. Springsteen, Lady Gaga, 60s & 70s rock, Scott Joplin rags, Rachmaninoff, Saint-Saens, Scott Joplin, Bowie, Elvis, Creedence, ELO, and Randy Newman.

Love Jon Stewart (sometimes I think he does a better job of reporting than CNN), John Oliver, & Bill Maher; among my favorite TV shows - Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, and Game of Thrones. Classic movies on the TCM channel. Listen to NPR radio - love Terri Gross' Fresh Air interviews and Garrison Keillor.

Food... I'm a vegetarian who still eats lots of other things - Thai, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and seafood. If you'd like to have a hamburger or steak, go right ahead, that's fine with me.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Can't I have Seven?
My family
My great friends
Good health
Music
Books
The beauty of nature
Computers
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Sometimes I think of the various journeys I've taken in life and what I've learned along the way. And how today's technology & politics has gone waaaaay beyond anything we could have imagined in our youth. What a world we're living in!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Spending the evening visiting good friends; there's usually a movie and lots of great conversation.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It wouldn't be private anymore if I wrote it here, would it? Okay, I'll give you one thing, I love pink lemonade.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I'm attracted to a woman who knows a little bit about a lot of different things.... intelligent, positive, expressive, sensual, and confident. A great sense of humor is a must. I'm here looking for a relationship filled with warmth, commitment and passion. One last thing - I think it's a lot nicer getting to know someone through conversation than emailing back & forth; so it's my preference to move off the web and talk on the phone, and if there's real chemistry, then make arrangements to meet. If any of this resonates with you, please write.
