I am [[creative]], [[adventurous]], and a traveler.

My Self-Summary

Well I guess this is where I introduce myself. My name is Josh, I'm currently living just south of Indy. I'm a photographer and as mentioned above, I love traveling. I've only been out of the country once so far but I've been all around the US mostly for fun. I went to Japan to live there for a month when I was 14. I'm hoping to go to Ireland next. I'm also an avid gamer. I have a large collection of board games and always enjoy learning new ones. Euchre is almost an addiction although I don't play it nearly as often as I'd like. I enjoy getting outdoors and have done several backpacking trips to various places. When I was still living in South Bend I went contra dancing once a month and had a great time. Sadly I've not been since moving to Indy. I also like new experiences and meeting interesting people.

I'm really not a kid person but I love animals. I have a cat who is the most people friend cat I've ever met. She always wants attention. I also have a bearded dragon who believes he can eat anything no matter how much larger it is compared to him. This often includes my cat, small children, and anyone who happens to pass by. Beyond that I used to work with horses and I grew up with dogs and a pair of cockatiels.

I'm really up for meeting anyone on here. I'm fairly new to Indy and would really like to expand my social circle a bit. I'd also like to get out and get more active once in a while. Traveling buddies or fellow outdoors types are always welcome also. I'm an explorer at heart. I'd also love to talk to anyone interested in photography. Always great to get new perspectives on things.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently in college getting a degree in photography. My dream job would be to work for a travel magazine or something along the lines of National Geographic. Currently I shoot weddings, senior pictures, various events, pretty much anything anyone needs. School takes up a good deal of my time but I do my best to relax when I can.

I’m really good at

Fixing computers/electronics, photography, seeing the humor in almost everything (this includes randomly laughing at the thoughts in my head), learning new things, making lists, rope ;), listening to people.

Things I'm not good at:
I'm terrible at taking naps. I'll try to lay down and get a quick half hour in but it always turns into a couple hours. Remembering what date it is. I always know what day it is like Tuesday or Wednesday but I'm terrible at knowing if today is the 10th or 11th or 23rd... yes it can be that bad. Skiing but I still love it. I spend a lot of time on the ground.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm definitely a reader. I enjoy mostly fiction books by decent authors. A few of my favorites are George R.R. Martin, Ursula K. Leguin, Melanie Rawn, Raymond E. Feist, and many others.

When it comes to movies I'm fairly open. Some of my favorites are Children of Men, Snatch, Boondock Saints, Firefly series, Last Castle, Sweeney Todd, Crash, and Office Space.

Music is mostly rock or classic rock but I also enjoy some celtic.

I've recently discovered I really like to cook. I tend to make a decent dinner four or five times out of the week. I don't like anything that can survive underwater though. I've tried most of them and there is just something about seafood I don't like.

The six things I could never do without

My camera for starters, computer, tea, trees, intellectual stimulation of some kind, vacation days.

Six things I don't like:
Waking up, trying to guess what people mean or want when they won't say what's on their mind, coffee, really high pitched noises, arrogance, reality TV.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Currently the future and how I'm going to get there. Where I'm going to travel next is also on my mind. I'm planning a trip to the Grand Canyon for next summer and still trying to work out a way to get to Ireland in the next couple of years.

On a typical Friday night I am

Traveling if possible, maybe playing some board games with friends or seeing a movie, or working on a new photography project.
