Recently underwent the excruciating yet well meaning experience of having my ex-wife and her sisters vet this profile. Their conclusion?

"Lower your age, mention that you love to travel and make it sound more like you are looking for a life-partner...you'll get more dates that way"

Opted not to take their counsel as went that advice but did edit out a sentence or two about the general physical types that attract me. "Those make you sound like a jerk" said they.

"Hmm...but what about all the profiles that mention tall men only etc, etc"

"That's pre-qualifying"

"But when a man does the same?"

"He's a jerk."

These being very smart women....the discussion stopped there, the point ceded and heeded.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Teen years split between deepest, darkest suburbia and Switzerland, my 20's exhausted chasing a rock n roll dream, my 30's passed as a restaurant owner/chef, my forties as an advertising type, first in radio and eventually as the owner of an audio production company focused on marketing communication. That would be the career that stuck, with my early 50's still finding me doing exactly that.

Looking back I suppose there is a rhyme and reason to my career arc but if asked, the one accomplishment I am most proud of is being Dad to the lovely young lady I am lucky to be father to.

Oh...and to be fair, being married to a rather amazing lady for 20 years (said daughter's mom). Having served the proscribed "life sentence" we have been released back to the wilds for phase 2 of our journeys. Apparently this is all the rage and "de-rigeur" amongst Nordic types my relatives in Sweden assure me...get the kids off to uni, shake hands and move on amicably having completed a job well done.

And I should mention this.... currently playing in the best band I've ever been in....separated from even the remotest possibility of commercial success, we are free to explore and create for no other reason than the pure love of doing so.

Have been on this site before but only as a peek at the dating world. Now that I am settled into my new home it feels like time to actually put my toe into the water.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
More than a few useful things ( I am accomplished and enthusiastic in the kitchen), several more that can be exciting to the right person and some that would interest few but amuse me no end (in the interest of full disclosure...I am talking about electoral politics and Coronation Street).

At the other end of the scale? Utterly useless at anything involving tools.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Is that they are sure they know me. Which means I either look like an awful lot of people in general or someone well enough known that they are top of mind.

I have no idea which.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Frankly....with the reboot underway, I am mostly trying
not to think too much at all. Starting with a blank slate seems
in order.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
We'll have to see.....new status calls for new routines....or perhaps an absence of them altogether.

I speak fluent "ballet". Men with daughters often do. I have secretly grown fond of it.
