I travel back and forth between SC, ATL, Europe, and LA doing the struggling artist thing, but they make you put down one location so I threw a dart. I'll be in LA and Ireland soon, so it would be cool to meet some new folks there. Always makes a trip more fun to explore the city with new friends.
Let's see, how to describe myself. I'm not typical, that's for sure. I write. I direct. Mind-bendy, beautifully, wickedly dark kinda stuff. Apparently, I keep the hours of a vampire, but have yet to burn or sparkle so that's a plus.
I work like virtually all the time, but when you're creating, it doesn't feel like work. When I'm actually not working I like to have fun with new people and places, great friends and great conversations, significant others and sex and so on.
I'm a crazy smart, ridiculously overeducated, laid back, down-to-earth, dreamer with a dark, twisted, little heart of gold, an easy laugh, a wicked sense of humor, a metal style, and an appreciation for the simple things in life. No-drama, no time for it.
But, in the end, with all of that, a bit too naive and soft-hearted a romantic for the world in which I live.
Currently toying with an urge to run out into the night and film something, or just run out into the night...
[Technically, I suppose I'm still a lawyer too, but I was young and naive when it happened, am currently in recovery, and really think I should be forgiven.]
Shows - 31, Game of Thrones, Hannibal (seriously wtf NBC?), The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Salem, Penny Dreadful, 12 Monkeys, Sherlock, Supernatural, iZombie, Utopia (BBC), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Rick and Morty, Monty Python, Brit Coms, stuff like that.
Movies - too many to count from nearly every genre except rom coms; classics to sci-fi to comic book heros, action/adventure to drama, foreign to independent, as long as it's well-written, well-shot, or there's something cool about it I'll give it a shot. Though I am rather drawn to the sci-fi type/superhero stuff- that's what you definitely want to see on the big screen. And of course horror.
Books - non-fiction mostly, quantum physics, metaphysics, astronomy, anthropology, archeology, history, psychology, neuroscience, etc. For a writer, the best fiction comes from fact and the universe is a fascinating place. For fiction, I like scifi, mystery, classics. Love Vonnegut, Stephen King, Asimov, etc., Checking out Kerouac's On The Road right now. I'll take recommendations. Read a lot of scripts of course. Poetry - Leaves of Grass is my fav, but I can like anything from classic romantic to modern foreign.
Food - anything but "southern" (Mom's is always better) or Indian (just can't stand the smell of curry)
Sports - Duke basketball only
Travel - there's a whole world out there I'm dying to see (and film)!
Basically, I just like my cars fast, my music loud, and my boys pretty.
A blank screen to write on
My sense of humor
Mountain Dew (keeps me alive)
And/or if you are supremely hot. It's not shallow, its a muse thing I swear! (I prefer brunettes with blue eyes, but seem to keep ending up with blondes with green eyes so clearly those things don't matter as much as the spark within those eyes.)
