My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hmmmmmm.... what to say? How do I summarize myself? What is the essence of me? Well, here is a selection of thoughts that may give you some insight into who I am and what I'm about...

I have a sneaker addiction. I can rationalize almost anything (and am willing to do so for others on demand). I balance my rugged good looks and boyish charm like a champ. I don't think you really know a place until you get lost there. I enjoy lifting weights and reading comic books (but not at the same time, that would be ridiculous). Sometimes I talk too much and sometimes I don't say enough. I think museums are cool. I believe big things are made up of small things. I know a guy that owns miniature horses and secretly want to steal one and ride it into town while wearing a tiny cowboy hat (me, not the horse). I think music is one of the best things in life. I've got a few tattoos. I think it is important to take care of the people that are important to you. Most of my closest friends are people I've worked with or met through bars I've worked at. I think that people grow like trees, adding on layers with the passage of years, but who they were at each stage is always inside them. I have a sweet left-handed hook shot. I've never seen the movie 'Titanic' and don't ever want to. I enjoy folding laundry. I think Disco got a raw deal. I believe in life elsewhere in the universe but don't expect it to come visiting. I'm pretty chill and easy to get along with. Given my choice, I'd rather be a smart-ass than a dumb-ass.

I hope you've found this helpful. I know I feel like I know myself much better after writing it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a graduate of the Interactive Multimedia Development program @ Algonquin College. You might say "Well, that sounds very interesting, Ian, but I have no idea what that is." And that would be cool, because when I first read about the program I didn't really know either. I came to find out that it involved learning a lot of computer skills while also having the opportunity to develop my creative side. (This has become important to me after having a litany of jobs that could probably have been performed by a trained monkey.) I work primarily with Adobe's creative suite, which includes programs such as Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and After Effects. It is important to me that I learn as much as possible and translate that into a solid skillset. They say that in order to master something you need to put in 10,000 hours doing it. I'm still working on that.

Currently I am employed as the coolest client service associate on the planet and doing a bit of freelance multimedia work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

I honestly don't have a clue. No one has ever told me but I'll be sure to ask around and get back to you.

Books -- I enjoy reading and am in the process of developing what I think is a fairly respectable library. I read more non-fiction than fiction but I like both. I like all the 'ologies' (psych, soci, bi, ge, ec, etc.), and have read a number of books on evolution and natural history. A lot of those interests started when I was in university. My course of studies would optimistically be referred to as diverse. It could also be realistically referred to as totally unfocused. What can I say? I'm curious about and interested in a lot of things! On deck right now I have a book by Hunter Thompson, a novel called 'Cabbagetown' that I read in highschool and recently picked up @ a used bookstore, and a book on the discovery of the homo florensis fossils in Madagascar a couple of years ago.

Music -- I've got diverse tastes here too. I like a lot of types of dance music; house, trance, tribal, etc. (I have a dj mixing program on my computer and often force mixes on my friends.) I also like soul, funk, pop, classic rock, hip hop, rap, retro, disco and more. I've recently gotten into collecting vinyl and could be developing a serious addiction. I like exploring music and love to look back and see how listening to one thing lead to another. I won't do country though. Please don't ask me to. I get hives.

Movies -- I like sci-fi, action, horror (especially zombies), thrillers, comedies, documentaries. Not so much a chick flick guy, but still sensitive enough to have cried during Armageddon when Bruce Willis blew up. I also have a taste for movies that most people think (and probably rightly so) are bad or at the very least really odd. The most recent movie I've watched was 'Cabin in the Woods' which was a pretty cool flick. Definitely a creative take on the whole 'teens go to a cabin and all hell breaks loose theme.' It is a Joss Whedon film and I generally enjoy his stuff. Besides, how can you not like a film where a unicorn kills someone? That's just frickin' awesome!

Food -- I love pizza. Let me say that again... I love pizza. I'm also a big meat and potato guy. I am allergic to nuts (all nuts except coconuts, but I think they are gross) so that makes eating more challenging but such is life. I used to be allergic to eggs but as of a couple of years ago have been able to eat them. This was very exciting for me. I'm terrible at cooking them though I always break the yolks and/or burn them. I'm really not a picky eater though. If it won't kill me, I'll probably eat it.

I had a dream last week where I was killing tiny snakes with a brown dress shoe. I don't know why. It made sense at the time.
