My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi guys!

Self-summaries are brutal, so i'm just going to rattle off some things about myself that I feel are relevant.

Conversation, learning, observing, and growing as a person are my priorities in life. There is nothing I enjoy more than a good meal, good conversation, and relating to other people on new levels.

My hobbies include museums, music, film, astronomy (mostly in documentary/planetarium form), aquariums, art and all forms of expression that aren't overly abstract / pretentious (i'm specifically thinking of Rothko, etc), walks and hiking, discovering new places to eat, cooking, comedy in all forms, concerts, trivia, board games, video games, bedroom games, camping, i'd like to add fleeing the earth to the list when the technology finally gets up to snuff with my wishes. I really want to add european travel to that list soon.

I'm a very sarcastic and funny person. I'm totally going to throw that out there, and then have no evidence of it for the rest of this profile.

I had five different majors in college and never finished any of them. Checking "some college" on things makes me a sad panda when I have 8 years of college education. I plan to return to college and finish after I gain IL residency.

Alright, so What makes me unique?

I'm a gamer. Not the "ignore everyone for 8 hours a day while i play halo" kind, but the "social gamer" kind. My big games right now are Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3-D World, and the new Super Mario Bros.

I love food. Show me a new place to eat, and i'll want to go there twenty times so that I can try everything on menu.

My fundamental belief system is best described by Neil Degrasse Tyson: "When I wake up each morning I have two goals. Know more than I knew yesterday, and to reduce human suffering."

And I leave you with: Fluorine Uranium Carbon Potassium Bismuth Technetium Helium Sulfur Germanium Thulium Oxygen Neon Yttrium
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a pretty unique job related to fighting censorship and mass surveillance, with a company I built myself from nothing.

I have dedicated my life to this cause, and it feels great to have a calling in life.

I like making my own schedule and having generally very flexible hours. I also like that I can unleash my fury on shitty customers. I have never had that privilege before I started my own company.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
video games, board games, managing crises, cooking experimental recipes, computer hardware, networking, being logical to the point of a flaw, eating sweet tarts, taking way too many showers, doing profoundly stupid things while insisting that I really am intelligent.

Oh, and Mario Kart. Yes, that is a challenge.

Books: I tend to read a lot of scientific journals, and my work involves continuous research. I'm rediscovering my love for leisure reading! I've bought a bookshelf with the intention of filling it by the end of 2015 with leisure books i've read. The last few books I've read for leisure:
God Created the Integers by Stephen Hawking
Slaughterhouse Five by Vonnegut
The God Delusion by Dawkins
The Sun Also Rises by Hemingway
1984 by Orwell
I'm looking for recommendations from the same/similar authors!

So it goes...

Movies: I like everything, even the occasional terrible romcom. I have a hell of a time picking a favorite so i'll just lay some out there. Snatch, Gladiator, What Dreams May Come, Ace Ventura, Grandma's Boy, Inglorious Bastards, Shaun of the Dead, The World's End.

Shows: I'm going to assume this means television, because I have attempted to like theatre for years, but wind up hating myself for how much i hate live theatre. I just can't do it.

Music: I could literally write a book on this topic alone. My tastes span everything from classical to electronic to rap.

My new song that i'm shoving into my ears incessantly is this:

Food: Yes.
The six things I could never do without

Everything. My life is basically moving from one existential crisis to the next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I don't have a typical Friday night. I could be working if something imploded, I could be out drinking with friends, or I could be playing games or marathoning a new season of my favorite show on Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
-I'm fucking over casual dating. One night stands are for people with commitment issues.

-I would probably eat a plate of human thumbs if you put sweet baby ray's sauce on it.

-I don't really have private things. I'm an open book.
