My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well... I suppose it's time for the self absorbed 'me' story. I'm 30 and five years into my career. Went to community college in my hometown of Vancouver for three years where I decided I wanted to do Graphic Design, after a short stint in the engineering field. Then I headed off to university at Central Washington U, where I got my first real taste of freedom. Once I graduated I continued to work for a small boutique design firm in Ellensburg, then moved back to Vancouver for a stint and have finally settled up in Seattle, WA for the time being (Capitol Hill to be exact). Currently I work for one of the many Microsoft vendors as a UI/UX Designer and Project Manager.
If all goes as planned I'll have college, and car debt paid off in the next 5 years and then start saving for the future. In a perfect world I will either start my own design firm, or bakery. I know the two seem rather distant from each other on the career spectrum, but I have a passion for both.
So that seems a bit longer than a summary should be, but I hope you'll forgive the length.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
- Currently working towards my 5 year financial goal.
- Seeking a kindred spirit of sorts, to take part in shennanigans and tomfoolery with. Hence the OKCupid account.
- Also getting back into the shape I was in at 20, if not better. Yay for Foundation Crossfit! I am loving it. I'm feeling better, eating healthier, and just love life a little more knowing I'm making a better future for myself fiscally and physically.
- Oh! And I'm always trying to better my skills in graphic design/art in general.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Running, listening, cooking, cleaning things up, cribbage, helping my grandparents with their computer related problems, flirting (sometimes), and games of all sorts.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If they know my father: how similar we are (mannerisms, expressions, etc)
If they are just meeting me: personality, I've been told I seem like a leader, but I don't know. I've also been told I have nice eyes. You should tell me what you notice about me first!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: when I used to read a lot I preferred fantasy/fiction. Terry Goodkind, Laura Hamilton, JK Rowling. I don't read books as much anymore unless they're about my trade. Really liked the first Hunger Games book, not so much the other two. Currently, I'm reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, House of Lies: How Mangement Consultants Steal Your Watch to Tell You the Time, and Black Banners.

Movies: The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Darjeeling Limited, Wanted, Swordfish, Reservoir Dogs, all super hero flicks, even the comedic ones, most James Bond flicks, any good action/scifi/fantasy flick, and all comedies. Pretty much the only type of movie that's NOT on my HAVE to watch list would be the modern "hack and slash, we have lots of shock value based gratuitous violence and we're trying to be seriously scary" films. (Saw series, hostel, etc...)

Music: Deadmau5, Grimes, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Nicki Minaj, The Decemberists, The Barenaked Ladies, The White Stripes, Brendan Benson, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Cold War Kids, The Black Kids, Bootie Mashups (Bootleg music mashups, nothing to do with butts), Lincoln Park, Frank Sinatra, All sorts of Classical (I listen to King fm), Daft Punk, Ferry Corsten, Gwen Stefani, etc... ad nauseum.

Shows: Dexter, Face Off, Archer, Californication, pretty much any show that has ever been based on mutants, magic, or super heroes/the supernatural... Yeah I'm nerdy.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A friend
Pen/pencil and paper
Water
Daylight
Fresh Air
A goal
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The small nuances in life, why other people do the things they do, what are those closest to me thinking and feeling. How I can help my friends and family. What's for dinner.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm lucky: out enjoying drinks and dancing with friends.
If everyone's being homebodies: video games and lots of them, with a side of movies/music, and my computer for designing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
To anyone: I feel like I haven't accomplished everything I should have at my current age, but I'm still trying to get there.

To close friends: I'll let you know if I feel close enough to you.
