My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I'm Thomas. I am an actor, a linguist, a teacher, a student, a nerd, a sometimes writer, and an all-times lover of humour and language. I am not yet a wizard, but I'm working on it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am currently a PhD candidate at VCU. My dissertation focuses on fictional languages, socio-linguistics, and performance studies. The moral of the story: I get to study Dothraki, Klingon, and Elvish. Its awesome!

Theatre is my passion. I am an actor and a teacher of acting. I am currently visiting head of Voice/Speech at VCU Theatre and this summer I'll be playing Horatio in Hamlet alongside some of my best friends!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at voice-over acting, dialects, and accents. It's kind of my thing. I do take requests!

I'm good at making people laugh and feel welcome, and I love hosting/organizing revels.

I'm good at games, whether they're board games, card games, video games, or role-playing-games; games are my favorite way to spend time with friends and to meet new friends. I dream of one day owning a table big enough to seat comfortably all the people I love.

I'm good at talking, but I'm better at listening. Listening is the most important part, and I dedicate a lot of my teaching time to helping young actors learn to do just that.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've recently discovered that I'm quite tall. I suppose I always assumed that I stopped at eye-level.

Disclaimer: This section is absurdly long. Asking me to narrow down which stories and media are my "favorites" is mad! Mad I tell you!

A Song of Ice and Fire, Harry Potter, Dune, Johnny Cash's autobiography Cash by Johnny Cash (I have a first edition!), Hoyle's Book of Games (I have an 1857 edition!), Einstein's Dreams, Jimmy Corrigan the Smartest Kid on Earth, The Hobbit, Tumblr (that counts as a book, right?).

Mad Max: Fury Road is the greatest thing ever. Other favorites incllude: The Lost Boys, Cabin in the Woods, Pacific Rim, Pan's Labyrinth, The Orphanage, Let Me In, Troll Hunter, The Big Lebowski, Love Actually, The King's Speech, Nightmare on Elm Street, Planet Terror, Evil Dead, Starship Troopers, Last House on the Left, Just Assume I Listed Every Studio Ghibli Film, Predator, Top Gun, Star Trek II, Star Trek III (because Christopher Lloyd is a genius, damnit), Up! (during which I weep like an inconsolable infant), Underworld, and of course A Knight's Tale.

TV Shows
Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Dollhouse, Supernatural, Castle, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, Sherlock, iZombie, The IT Crowd, Orange is the New Black, The Vlog Brothers (internets TV!), and of course Parks and Rec! My current obsession is Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, because they're alive, damnit.

Johnny Cash, Metallica, NiN, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Amanda Palmer, Florence and the Machine, Iron Maiden, Dio, Ozzy, Foo Fighters, Nightwish, Amaranth, ABBA, Judas Priest, Mastodon, Fleetwood Mac, U2, Muse, Metric, Paramore, any 4-chord song, and every '90s song.

I'm hard to offend and easy to please.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends, hugs, green things that grow, stories, laughter, and the Oxford English Dictionary.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Picking up, hopping a plane out to the left coast, and going on an adventure.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Misbehaving to the best of my considerable ability and gumption.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am a Gryffindor, a Capricorn, and an ISTJ. Possibly in that order.
