My self-summary
What people notice first is that I tell a lot of stories, I'm a shameless dancer and that I'm constantly laughing and smiling about something. I'm loyal to my friends and prefer people to just be themselves. Flaws and all.

No racists though.

I'm looking for a person who I'll always have something to say to, and vice versa. You don't need to have the same interests, or same experiences, but I like people who are open-minded and have perspective of what really matters. Want to ride bikes on the beach, go to a show of a little known band, play some pool with friends, join a softball team, volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, use some Groupons, go to the Art Institute, go kayaking, watch documentaries and British sitcoms, go skiing? These are some of the things I like to do, and want someone special to do them with. It seems like it should be low hanging fruit, but some people just don't like getting out of their routines.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently planning a cousin trip to Yosemite and Napa to celebrate my sister's graduation. Also starting to plan a family ski trip next year and getting together a softball team for this summer.
I’m really good at
Coming in, as my buddy puts it, "guns a blazin."

Other talents:
Storytelling.
Self-deprecation.
Being ridiculous.
Mario Kart (don't even try..)
My sangria will knock you on your ass.
Dancing like a fool. Especially to 90s dance music.
Meeting random people.
The first things people usually notice about me
If you don't notice me smiling or laughing right off the bat, then I'm probably sleeping and you need to get out of my room..
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Stranger (all time favorite), Oryx and Crake, Old Man and the Sea, Brave New World, Call of the Wild, The Handmaids Tale (Atwood anyone?), Into the Wild, Veronika Decides to Die, Fahrenheit 451. Most my reading has been the paper lately. Yeah, sooo cooool.

Music: Bo Diddley (favorite musician in high school), Black Keys (favorite band in college), The Band, old school R&B like Otis Redding, Marvin (Got To Give It Up is my anthem) and Bill Withers, 90s Alternative, Tune-Yards, folk and bluegrass: Paul Curreri, Nick Drake of course and Jody Stecher. Newer music: The War on Drugs, Tame Impala, Ben Howard, Now, Now, the Wood Brothers, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Whale Belly. The Kishi Bashi NPR Tiny Desk Concert has an awesome version of "Atticus, in the Desert". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgqAmZHkkTg

I like music with energy, a good beat, fun to dance to, good driving music. I'm constantly on Spotify and my favorite music podcasts are NPR: All Songs Considered and MP3 of the Day.

TV: How the Universe Works, the Wire, Arrested Development, Portlandia, Workaholics, Spaced, The Adventures of Pete & Pete.

Movies: Comedies mostly. I'll watch just about any movie that's on cable and will watch the Last Waltz any day of the week. Others: Sleeper, Hot Fuzz, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, the Midnite Movies (old horror movies), The King's Speech, Freakonomics, Hot Tub Time Machine. If you scoff at that last one, get over it, that movie is ridiculous.

Food: Two absolute favorites are unagi and huevos con chorizo, with my mom's enchiladas as my favorite Thanksgiving and Christmas dish. 2012 was the year of falafel.

2013 has been all about eating healthy. More than the recommended daily servings of vegetables kind of healthy. I'm a recreational vegan, I guess. Ain't no thang. More energy than I've ever had though...
The six things I could never do without
The last couple years it's been: "Do I really need that?"

How about the six things that would keep me sane in a lifetime of solitary confinement? No phones, no internets, only one book. No friends, no family. Food and water provided.

A chair. (If only one thing, this would be it)
A guitar.
The Stranger by Albert Camus. (Really the first thing I thought of, though its a real short book...)
A picture of my ma, sis and pops with the late, great Boomer.
A jade.
Aaaaaaand..... a vivid imagination? I don't know. Five is good enough for now.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The fact that I haven't heard the words to the Kit-Kat song in the commercials for so long that I wonder if the majority of today's youth even know them. ***Update: They don't***
