My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a quiet person who loves animals. I currently have two ferrets as pets. Though I do enjoy the outdoors, and love to go for long walks or hikes, I spend most of my time indoors with a book or my computer. I have few friends, but I am very close to those few.

Here are a few things you should know about me, before you go any farther: I will want to get to know you a little; I'm looking for friends. And I live with my boyfriend and my son.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I got out of the army toward the end of 2013, and am currently a stay at home mom.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I love to knit; making things gives me great joy. I also love to play board games and do puzzles; I love a good challenge.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I suppose the first thing people usually notice about me is that I am quiet and reserved. And, I've been told, my boobs.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
It's hard for me to choose a favorite book. I read mostly fantasy, and am currently working on George R. R. Martin's latest novel, but I enjoy a wide variety of genres. The same goes for music; I've been listening mostly to more indie pop lately, but my fallback has always been country music. As for movies, the only thing I never watch is horror, though I'm not always a fan of action either (it should have a plot). My favorite shows are Firefly, Doctor Who, and NCIS, in no particular order.

Food, now, that is something fairly important. I enjoy most varieties of food, but my favorite "variety" is homemade! I can't stomach greasy food very often, as I was raised on healthy home-cooked meals and now eat mostly paleo, but I enjoy the occasional fried chicken or cheesburger as much as the next person. My favorite types of food are mostly Asian: Thai, Japanese, Korean, etc. Usually, if it includes fresh vegetables, I'll be happy.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Wow, this one's going to be difficult. Let me think....

Well, at the top of the list has to be cuddles. I am really big on touching. I hug my friends, hold hands, even kiss some of them (on the cheek, of course). I don't think I could do without touching in my life.

Water. I know what you're thinking, but I'm not talking about the practical "you need to drink water to survive" thing. I love being around the water. Rivers, lakes, the ocean...I need to be able to get to the water. I live in Albuquerque, NM, and the only downside is that its a ways to go to play in the water.

Ok, what else? Well, one of the hardest things about being in the army was being without a kitchen. I'm not so big on cooking (though I do enjoy it), it's the baking I missed. Now that I live in an apartment again, I wonder how I managed without an oven for so long.

Games are another big one. Board games, card games, puzzles, they're all important. I even play video games sometimes, but I try to be careful about those, because I get so absorbed in them that I stop paying attention to stuff around me. If it engages my mind, I'm usually happy with it. I love to be mentally stimulated and challenged.

On that note, books are something I'd probably have a hard time without. I don't need to own them (though that is nice), as long as I have access to them. One day, I hope to work in a library, so that I can be surrounded by books whenever I like. I love reading, and I love stories. I collect myths and legends.

Great! That only leaves one more thing. I can't live without my friends and family. I need to have people (or animals) in my life who depend on me, and on whom I can depend. I tend not to make many friends, but I cherish the ones I have.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think a lot about where I'm going from here. I'm not sure where life after the army is taking me, whether I can actually go back to school as I'd like to. I worry about whether I can provide for my family, and on some days, whether I can even take care of myself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Most Fridays find me at home, spending time with my family. Occasionally we have company over, and we'll play a game or two, or sit around chatting and playing with the animals. I don't usually go out on Fridays, since I don't do well with large crowds of people.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Yikes! The most private thing I'm willing to admit, for anyone to see? I guess that would be that, even at age 26, I am still afraid of the dark. Yep, that's right. I'm afraid of the dark. There's a street light that shines in my window at night, but if there weren't I'd keep a night light or something by my bed.
