Greets to all once again. I'm a 22 year old guy sharing an
apartment in Cork with my best mate while working my full time job
in Customer Support for a large gaming company.
Raised in Dublin (the good part :>), I've been living in Cork
since I got my dream job. I still head back up to see my family and
some friends when I can.
I'm a
geek. I enjoy
table top and video gaming, and games that pit your problem solving
or ability to plan ahead. I've an Xbox 360, Playstation 2, Gamecube
and 2 PCs. In recent years I moved away from console gaming towards
the PC. I'm handy with windows, forum/bbs coding etc, IRC, torrents
and the like.
Also in my intrests is
Anime/
Manga/ japanese culture in general. The
Japanese have made so many amazing things, only paralleled by the
amount of wierd shit they make.
I try to make friends with everyone I'm in contact with regularly;
there's no gain in being on bad terms with people.
I try and see the positive side in everything. Sure, something
shitty just happened, but there's no use in letting that overwhelm
me. Rather than that, I'll figure how to correct or respond to
it.
I am as
open
minded as they come. I can find most things funny, and am the
kind of person who laughs at racist/sexist etc jokes but am by no
means a racist/sexist/etc person. To each his own, whatever floats
your boat.
I love
animals. I
trained my family's two dogs while we raised them, and love
everything about dogs. Friendly, affectionate, playful and
loyal.
I like cats aswell, though not as much as dogs. They are cute and
are good company, but they think they are better than you. Can't
help but feel they only stick around to be fed.
I like using my body more than what you get in your every day life.
Dancing,
swimming,
martial arts and general
working out have taken up a large amount of my spare time in my
life. I have taken part in public dance offs :P. My mam is a
swimming teacher so I, along with my siblings took lifesaving
classes. I'm a brown belt in Kick-boxing, and the less trustworthy
youths hanging around in arcades stop laughing at the fact that a
guy's on a
Dance Dance
Revolution/
DDR
machine when they can only see a blur where my feet used to
be.
I'm affectionate. I like to be close to someone, and the likes of
hugs (for friends) kisses on the cheek (for family) and the like
are usually how I greet people important to me. As for women, I am
compelled to show my affection with words and with actions, holding
hands, light kisses, holding each other etc makes me genuinely
happy and a gives a closeness I love sharing with someone.
I can't cook. Nothing intricate anyway. I can make you a tasty
pasta with chicken and cheese sauce, but unfortunately that's about
it. It's something I want to work on when I have the chance.
I'm very
clean. I
make my bed when I get out of it in the morning and don't leave my
wardrobe doors open. If I eat something on a plate, I'll clean it
up.
I don't litter and recycle my cardboards and papers. I do what I
can as one person to keep the earth in one piece.
I performed in
drama/
acting for many years while growing up. I
was always taking part in activities involving playing a part and
getting in front of an audiance. I loved to play parts. If I was in
a comic book, my power would be to take on any shape physically and
had the mental discipline and demeanor to be any person aswell as
look like them. I enjoyed improvisation and playing characters a
lot, and all that time thinking on my feet in front of a crowd
removed most of my inhibitions. I was always a guy who stood out in
school, seeming wierd or wacky, though this of course isn't
appriciated by the masses when you don't know how to vent all that
energy :)
As I grew older into my late teens and the whole schtick became
more mature and serious, with the themes of fun and social
interactions fading in favour of it being more of a profession or
art, I stopped attending.
Drama and acting helped shape who I am today and I'll always be
glad I was able to like that method of venting my endless energy ^^
I'm currently working in customer support for a large game
producing which recently set up in Cork. We're pretty cloak and
dagger though...
I'm climbing the ladder. One day I'll be in a position to make
choices that decide the fate of others, and I know I'll do it
well.I chased this job as I like going home at the end of the day
knowing that I helped people - even if it was nothing major. Simply
being nice to someone can make their day, and that is worth the
world to someone at times.
On my days off I am usually found playing
Team Fortress 2 and
World of Warcraft
or visiting my family and friends up in Dublin. I try to keep in
contact with old friends, enjoy a drink now and then.
Anticipating the actions of others in thinking games. I like to
take a look at a game for a while, say a game of cards, and use
what I've seen before to look at the opposing possible options and
plan a response for whichever one comes.
I'm good at rhythem games; the likes of guitar hero/rock band or
Osu!
Tatakae! Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents (western variation). This is
moreso due to the fact that I've played
DDR for over 2 years and play the more
difficult songs in the 9s and 10s or doubles of that
difficulty.
World of Warcraft is one of my favourite timesinks so I guess it's
only natuaral I'd say I'm good at it. I've levelled 9 classes above
70 and filled all the roles regularly at high end raiding at one
point or another. Also multiboxed 5 shamans to 70.
I'm good at expressing myself through my body action, tone and
vocabulary. Speaking to people all day long on the computer as my
job demands skillful command on the written English language. Since
getting my job as a customer support agent, recognising how words
or actions can be perceived by others became something I've taken
to heart. Being a pillar of strength for someone to take comfort or
confidence in is easier than it can seem, and it's worth a lot more
then thought to be.
Internet, clocks, Pepsi/Coke, hot baths, a comfy chair, webcomics.
Where I am. Where I'm going, and where I've come from.
How my family and friends I haven't spoken to in a while are
doing.
How I can make my life easier, and doing the same for those
important to me.
Finishing off a day of games or on a train back to Cork after a few
days in Dublin.
When I get more than 6 baileys I become an all-tolerating,
all-loving, never-hating, personification of love, friendship and
happy times.
