My self-summary
Ramble about myself? Don't mind if I do!

My name's Aaron; I am a big geek and also a big nerd, but not so much with the being of a dork. I take silly things very seriously and am very silly about incredibly serious things. A music journalist I adore and kind of look like wrote a neat essay about how he is the opposite of a no-nonsense person; that's how I would describe myself, as well. I am a nonsense person. I am a practicing discordian and have been for about 33.3 years, and if you don't know what discordianism is I'd recommend you find someone who isn't one to explain it. The answer will be more satisfying, and you won't end up having TEN TONS OF FLAX!!! shouted at you in public.

I play the guitar; it is a deeply personal experience for me. I have no dreams of being a famous musician. I don't really write a lot of songs, but I love letting music flow through me and it is definitely one of my greater joys in life.

I'm also a 29 year old RPG player. Yep, that's right, I am in fact the dungeon master. I like all kinds of games, from ye olde Dungeons and Dragons to the grimdark future of Shadowrun. I like the hacking, the slashing, the roleplaying, the friendship, the imagination- it is my ideal board game, and getting together with some close friends and rolling some dice is one of my favourite ways to pass an evening. Scrabble's pretty killer, as well.

I like to go to places, it's a lot easier than going to ideas or melodies. Museums, rock shows, movies, it's all good. On the other hand, I would rather go to a awesome house party than a bar, a crowded bar is like my kryptonite. If you ever want to see me just shut down, drag me to one and watch what goes on with my face. I might be using a little hyperbole, there- I'm not an antisocial shut-in or anything, but I don't dig strangers or crowds or noise. Feels unnatural.

I make a good living by screwing around on the internet. You can interpret that however you want.

I have a cat, his name is Charles Heironymous Pace (or Charlie for short), and if you ever mess with him I will drop the freaking hammer on you!

I would describe myself as: intelligent, funny, loyal, stubborn, gullible, shy, empathic, gentle, thoughtful and slow.
What I’m doing with my life
Combining it with duct tape, an aerosol can and some steel wool... I've got this bet going with Richard Dean Anderson.

OK, OK. I have goals and stuff. By the time I am 30, I would like to both be enrolled in college and also to have visited southeast Asia. I'm not sure if I am interested in owning a house; I don't know if marriage is something I am really interested in; I've thought a lot about adoption, but I don't think I want to father children. I am trying very hard to craft a life that fits my definition of stable, which won't match everyone's, necessarily, and that is awesome! I know myself, I know what I want, and I am going to get it, and I am not going to be sidetracked by mother culture telling me what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing. Do you know what suppose means? It's what other people ASSUME IS CORRECT, and as we all know when you assume you save a lot of time which can be used to watch youtube clips of monkeys drinking their pee.
I’m really good at
Hmmmm. Well, I'm a lot stronger than I look, being tall, so I am REALLY good at carrying stuff.

I am REALLY good at playing the guitar.

I am REALLY good at writing.

I am REALLY good at listening and figuring out what people are really saying and understanding people.

I am REALLY GOOD at video games, and that's now that I don't even care about them much! Seriously. Freaky mutant good. I am a 30th century man.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I am much taller than them. Then they ask me if I play basketball. (OK, so this is the one answer I did not delete and rewrite because it's too true to change.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favourite books are 'Trout Fishing in America' by Richard Brautigan, 'the Phantom Tollbooth' by Norton Jester, 'Watership Down' by Richard Adams, 'Stardust' by Neil Gaiman, 'Madame Bovary' by Gustuv Flaubert, 'Half-Asleep in Frog Pajamas' by Tom Robbins and 'Slaughterhouse 5' by Kurt Vonnegut.

Comics: 'The Invisibles' by Grant Morrison. 'The Invisibles' by Grant Morrison. 'Promethea' by Alan Moore. 'Transmetropolitan' by Warren Ellis. 'The Filth' by Grant Morrison. 'The Invisibles' by Grant Morrison. Grant Morrison. GRANT MORRISON! :P

Movies... 'Six-String Samurai', 'Schizopolis', 'Super Troopers', 'the Royal Tenenbaums', 'Snatch', 'Mirrormask', 'An American Astronaut', 'the Signal', 'Fido', and 'Dawn of the Dead' (the remake; yes, I said it, it's better).

I have a passionate love affair with music and she is my ice cold red hot bitch mistress. She ties me up and drags me down the street while all the neighbours are watching and wondering whether to take photos or call the cops. Here's some examples:

Arcade Fire, Blackalicious, Cheap Trick, Daft Punk, Everclear, Fugazi,
Grand Buffet, Harvey Danger, Iggy Pop, Jurassic 5, Kronos Quartet. Ladytron, Metric, Nick Cave, Oasis, Propellerheads, Queen, Todd Rundgren, the Shins, the Tragically Hip, Underworld, Violent Femmes, the Who, goddamn letter x (never really dug x the band or x-ray specs), Yo La Tengo and Frank Zappa. Wheeeee!

food... to be honest, I'm not an epicurean. I'll eat literally anything and probably a lot of it, including your friend and her date's left-overs if we're out on a double-date and they leave early. I cook a lot and generally know what I'm doing; for example, if I am making spaghetti the first choice I have to deal with is what kind of wine to use.
The six things I could never do without
I have strong opinions about this question. This entry used to be much longer, but sitting here updating my profile I just don't see any point in ranting about society and consumerism and bla bla blah. I have a cat, I am not sure what I'd do without him because he keeps me happy on the really bad days, you know? I have a guitar, and I wouldn't want to do without it because having it means I know I can always get some money together if things get terrible (NO NOT BY SELLING IT! Jeez!). I like to have a black, hardcover book full of blank unlined paper and a nice pen. I can do without pretty much anything else, and have at various times in my life.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The past, the present and the future- what I've done, what I'm doing, what I'm going to do. I spend a good amount of time trying to put together my personal code of ethics and figure out if I'm actually following it. I also spend a lot of time engaging in sexual fantasies about women I see walking down the street. Ooops, too much info?
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't do crowded bars. I do not like cramped noisy spaces. I'm game for literally anything else, and I'm not a total jerkass; sometimes I just put on my game face and go out with people for drinks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ankle-length skirts leave me hot and bothered... and my screen name is Welsh. I already gave you my first name, isn't that enough? :P
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–39

  • For new friends, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You should message me if you wanted to message me. I find women with the self-esteem to put themselves out there now and again, the way men are generally expected to, very attractive. I like confidence. I am not interested in being in a relationship with a woman where she is more like a pet I'm supposed to take care of. I'm not interested in being in a relationship with a woman who's self-image is based only on the regard of another person. On the other side, I'm not looking for a 'boss' or anything like that; I'm stubborn and independent and probably always will be, and I appreciate, respect and drool at femininity. I like people who are happy and secure with who they are and want someone to enjoy life with.
