My self-summary
I'm a talkative person and fairly opinionated. It's easy for me to get into fun, engaging, and frequently long discussions, which happens pretty often.

I love my work. I'm an engineer, and I really enjoy it. I like learning new things and building cool stuff.

If you're a fan of puns or sarcasm, then from me you'll see plenty! Mostly puns. Yes, puns. Sometimes I think of some that even make me roll my eyes. Like, did you hear about the guy who didn't agree with the theory of gravity? He didn't think it had much weight to it. Yeah. Like that. And I agree with you, the worst part is that I share them! I also get this mischievous smile on my face whenever I'm thinking of one of them, causing my pun-hating friends to run the other way when they notice I'm smiling.

Coffee is one of my best friends, and coffee shops are one of my preferred hangout spots. I either go there frequently with friends, but also sometimes to just relax and read or get work done.

I'm also the "Let's go on long walks" kind of guy. That is, if you can call them walks. At the pace I go they're kind of like brisk marches, but they're still fun.
What I’m doing with my life
Getting accustomed to a new place! Just moving to California from Canada, and happy that my eyebrows will no longer freeze when I leave my house. Looking forward to enjoying new work, meeting new people, and exploring a new state.
I’m really good at
I'm good on the piano, fast at learning new things, and I have recently discovered my public speaking skills.
The first things people usually notice about me
If I grow my beard out a bit, people will notice that I have a bit of a ginger beard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For books, anything by Kurt Vonnegut! Cat's Cradle and Slaughterhouse Five are among my favourites. Recently read Animal Farm and loved it (somehow I missed it in school). I throw the odd Tom Clancy or some non-fiction in there for good measure.

For movies, Dr Strangelove is one of my all-time favourites, but I also love The Departed, Eternal Sunshine, Usual Suspects, most of Tarantino, any awesome B movie, Pixar stuff... way too many to list!

I don't watch that much TV, but I usually stick to whatever is currently great on HBO or Showtime. Dexter's been a favourite for a while, and I recently watched The Newsroom which was pretty great too. I'll also add Homeland and Game of Thrones in there for good measure.

I don't listen to that much music, and my tastes really vary from time to time.

When it comes to food, put me in a Japanese or Chinese restaurant and I'll eat half the menu. I love finding new awesome places in China Town. I'm also a pretty big fan of Italian food, and also enjoy just going to a bar for a pint and a burger or wings on occasion.
The six things I could never do without
My smart phone and fast internet
The occasional beer
A really comfy bed
My closest friends (this is #1)

My sixth was something specific to Canada, but it looks like I'll have to find a new answer. Guess I could do without it after all!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Philosophy, science, and dreaming about the impossible.

I also think about all the amazing people that I wish I could spend more time with.
On a typical Friday night I am
Really changes from week to week.

On summer weekends I'll head up to Muskoka, but more frequently I try to grab a group of friends to watch a movie, play some pool, grab dinner, or even just stay in and play a board game.

I have really cool co-workers that love to eat, drink, and hang-out on Fridays, so sometimes that's the option I pick.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I get all my best ideas in the shower! Best place for thinking through things.
