Books
WAY too many to mention. But I would highlight Moby Dick, Tolkien, Neal Stephenson, Terry Pratchett, Iain M. Banks, Donald Westlake, Red Mars, and Infinite Jest. I also am interested in non-fiction, particularly history. I've read a lot about 16th-century Europe, and also a lot about recent, non-Western history (Cambodia, Vietnam, China, the Congo).

Movies
The Ice Storm, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Gerry, Help!, The Great Muppet Caper, The Princess Bride, Ratatouille, Idiocracy, Brothers of the Head, Star Wars (original trilogy, natch), The Big Lebowski, Pi, The Fountain, Cradle Will Rock (super bonus points for anybody else that likes that one). I also love the Toronto Film Festival; if you've never been, make time for yourself early some September and go, you won't regret it.

Food
My three favorite East Bay restaurants are Boot and Shoe Service, Spice Monkey, and Ahn's Quarter Pound Burger

Other
I'm also into "German-style" board games, i.e., Puerto Rico, Settlers of Catan, Age of Renaissance, Diplomacy.

Music
I'm not that into music these days. I mean, there's music I like, and I can come up with some examples if you want, but it's honestly something I don't think much about. What I DO like is dancing to music, all sexy-like. I'm not a particularly good dancer, but I'm enthusiastic, which as far as I can tell is pretty much all that matters.
