I am living outside of th, e box; must be why I, and you, lack inhibitions.

My Self-Summary

I've heard the Aurora Borealis sing and I've run from a Finnish smoke sauna straight into an icy pond two degrees from the Arctic Circle - both on the same amazing night. What are your stories?

I am absolutely unique (just like everybody else), with an open marriage and a very open mind. My wife and I have been poly (in a longterm nonmonogamous relationship) since 1999 and we both have trouble understanding why most other folks seem to like to overcomplicate things so. I'm here to meet intelligent, openminded, and creative women as friends, and possibly lovers.

Let's live each moment to its fullest and not let those golden moments pass us by.

OkCupid: Now in Latin!
Carpe diem. Tempus fugit ergo is est tempus lusum.

Over the years, I've participated in creating most aspects of both music and theatre. Composing is my current focus, although I do get paid to sing on a regular basis. I have an unusually low and sonorous voice (with which I occasionally do voiceover gigs).

I’m really good at

humility.
And Scrabble. I can probably kick your ass at Scrabble. (Humbly, though, of course.)

The first things people usually notice about me

That I smile with my eyes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The Annotated Alice (Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass)
The Heaven Tree Trilogy (by Edith Pargeter)
The Lord of the Rings
The Albatross Book of Living Verse (an old collection of old poetry)
Mythology (by Edith Hamilton)
An Artist of the Floating World (by Kazuo Ishiguro)
Fountainhead & Atlas Shrugged (by Ayn Rand) (And no, I'm not an Objectivist - I just enjoy her fiction. Pity she only wrote 4 novels.)
Gormenghast trilogy (Titus Groan, Gormenghast, & Titus Alone) (by Mervyn Peake)
1984 (by George Orwell)
Terry Pratchett
Neil Gaiman (especially his short story collection, Smoke & Mirrors)
IKEA catalogue

Casasblanca
Errol Flynn's Robin Hood
Time Bandits
Brazil
Local Hero
Forbidden Planet
The Life of Brian
Spirited Away (I just love the idea of a radish god)
Lawrence of Arabia
The Day the Earth Stood Still (the original)
The Man in the White Suit
Amadeus

Classical, Jazz (especially 30s & Big Band Era (ideally, on scratchy records (mono in both ears))), Musicals, Opera (yes, the plural), Gilbert & Sullivan, Kate Bush, Sting, David Bowie, J.S. Bach (The Great Great Grandfather of Jazz), Mendelssohn, Mozart, Britten, Janacek, Steve Reich's 'Drumming'

I could be happy eating nothing but Indian food

The six things I could never do without

music, challenges, insight, the night sky, creative outlets, really good sex

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Point-of-view, sex, asymmetry, negative space, resonance, antique futurism, harmony, cosmology, fonts, patterns, what science doesn't know, anomalies, obscure references, polyhedra, polyrhythms, polyamory - now why am I craving a cracker, all of a sudden?

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I now know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall.
