After writing dozens of cover letters for applications to Grad
School and jobs, I'm terrified I'm going to write this as a
professional, point by point process of who I am. Or maybe that's
actually a great idea and won't bore the pants off you.
I've recently moved back to the States (as in I've been in country
for less than 24 hours now as of this writing) and am regretting my
timing. Snow is something I haven't even thought about in two and a
half years. That said I'm looking forward to getting back into a
dating scene I'm more familiar with.
I work within the foreign policy area and focus on Southeast Asia
going back and forth between political risk analysis and
international development. I enjoy traveling and adventure above
all else. If packing your bags and flying out to go shop the Grand
Bazaar in Istanbul or taking a trek through the Tuscan countryside
or SCUBA diving in Raja Ampat sounds like something you're
interested in we might be a good match.
What I’m doing with my life
I just got back from living in Indonesia after two and a half
years. I'm currently catching up with friend's and family as well
as job hunting back stateside.
I’m really good at
Making a delicious omelette. This might be biased because I'm
currently eating one and am very very hungry.

Writing cover letters. (Aside: If this turns you on you may have a
problem. But I'm kind of ok with that)
The first things people usually notice about me

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Usually I find most people just write movies that have come out in
the past year or so here with an exception or two. I haven't really
kept up with movies recently so if you've seen any good ones in the
past two years let me know. That said some older ones I'll always
be a fan of are: Fire Walk with Me, La Dulce Vida, Lost in
Translation, Original Star Wars Trilogy, Slumdog Millionare, True
Stories and the Imposters.
Same thing goes with TV shows, so if you've got an awesome show you
enjoy tell me about it and maybe we can watch a few together!
Despite all that I HAVE been keeping up with a few though:
Community and Modern Family are brilliant. Game of Thrones has been
enjoyable and Wilfred is hilarious.
Blah blah blah most people I doubt read this section compared to
the others. I also find that I get along with people more based on
personality compatibility as opposed to our shared likes. They're
always a good conversation on a first date though so lets find more
about these in person!
The six things I could never do without
Good friends and companions.
Something to learn.
That's really all I need to be happy but lets through some
secondary level stuff in there to even out the six:
An internet connection (I have and do enjoy on occasion being
A good book
A beach within 20 miles.
On a typical Friday night I am
This depends on the Friday. I enjoy going out to grab some drinks
at the local pub, hitting the dance floor, catching a movie or even
staying home and doing little every so often. I'm very open to
opportunities so if you have something that you think would be fun
let's go do it!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm pretty open so if you're curious about something ask me.
Otherwise it'll come up organically in person if it's important.
You should message me if
...I sound interesting based on this profile. I'm better in person
so if something catches your eye even slightly hopefully meeting up
would be worth it.
