Let's see, other important things about me: Like everyone else on this site, I love to travel. I went to Denmark and Sweden the summer before last, and returned to China this summer with my little sister. I had lived there six years ago, so it was great to practice the language (I've still got it!), see my old host families, and visit new parts of the country. I won't be able to travel for a bit now that I'm employed, but South America is probably next on my list. Family is also very important to me. I'm very close with my sister, and I'm happy to have moved to a place that's only 45 minutes away from my parents. (Even if sometimes I'm VERY happy they're at least 45 minutes away.)
That's pretty much the big stuff - here are some random things that help describe me: I’ve only recently discovered that I actually have a decent sense of direction. (I grew up reading in cars, so I could not have told you how to get anywhere in my hometown until adulthood.) I just learned to ski last winter and it was awesome. The first person to call me ma’am was a judge I appeared before last year, and it freaked me out. I like to think I'm tough - I was always the roommate nominated to throw out the mice we caught. That counts, right? (I lived in NYC for a while. There were lots of mice.) Outside of rodents, I LOVE pets, even though I'm allergic to most of them. Someday, when I have a yard, I want to adopt a dog. (Claritin is a wonder-drug.) As for now, I live with my pet conure (small parrot) named Kiwi - he's 14 but going strong.
In terms of dating, I'm excited to finally be settled in one place for the foreseeable future. I'm looking forward to meeting people and exploring DC.
