My self-summary
Just moved back to Utah after 3 1/2 years in D.C. (Hence the name - I didn't want to create a new profile.) Now that I'm back in SLC, I can't wait to reconnect with old friends, but I'm also excited to meet new people - and hopefully do so more dating this time around. I've never been big at having a huge group of friends, especially within the gay community. I prefer having a core group of high-quality people in my life. Family is very important to me. So are politics, environmental responsibility, education, a curiousness about the world, a sense of humor, an open mind, an ability to be content, an appreciation for a quiet night home, music, compassion... There's a common theme in my life. When it comes to music, movies, TV shows, books, men, friends, etc., I don't have one preferred "type" or "genre;" instead, I am picky about finding the best of the best in every genre.

I am open-minded, compassionate, and family-oriented
What I’m doing with my life
Just moved back to Salt Lake, my hometown, after 3 1/2 years of working for an environmental nonprofit in Washington, D.C. I always knew I'd come back to Utah, and when the right job came along, it was time. I work in communications and do social media for a university. But I also strongly believe your job is not who you are, and when I go home from work, I try to leave work entirely behind. I try to define myself by the values I hold, the character traits I display, my interests and passions. I love to go out with friends, but I equally love spending time at home with some snacks, a drink or two, and some TV or a movie or blog reading or just relaxing. I'm very happy with my current lifestyle and am content being alone, but I also am very open to meeting someone to spend some time with if it comes naturally.
I’m really good at
writing, editing, understanding other people, calming conflict, cooking, laughing, moving the tip of my chin independently from the rest of my jaw (weird, right?)
The first things people usually notice about me
I have no idea. People don't usually tell me their opinions of me when we first meet. Do they tell you? Seems kind of strange if they do... :)

Alone time
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably just planning to watch Real Time with Bill Maher. If I'm out, chances are it's an impromptu happy hour with coworkers that went long. This doesn't mean I am totally boring. It just means that typically I like to use my Friday nights to relax and rest from a long week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The song "I Believe" from "Book of Mormon: The Musical" often makes me cry.
