My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Talking about oneself like this is so weird, it's just not my jam. Oh well, here goes: Laid back gentleman, dry/witty/offbeat/gallows-y sense of humor, refuses to sweat the small stuff yet loves to dissect minutiae, firm believer in work-life balance. Probably some other stuff too, I would think.

And some stuff that I like:
-Exploring new cities (what the locals do over touristy stuff, tho of course that has a place)
-Walking everywhere
-the Logan/14th/U st/Shaw hood
-Being outdoors
-Nats games
-People watching
-Getting irritated when tourists stand on the wrong side of metro escalators
-Going to the movies
-Trying out new restaurants, cuisines, bars (love a hole-in-the-wall that's great and only locals know about)
-Bar/backyard games
-Good coffee

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
In government, working in health. Wondering what and where the next step should be.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being so dry in conversation that people can't tell I'm joking. Trivia. Connect 4. Procrastinating. Overthinking. Cornhole. Table shuffleboard. Watching too much tv but not feeling bad about it (there's just so much good stuff, what are you supposed to do, I just want to keep up with the cultural conversation!!).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I look younger than my age, which I now finally appreciate. Good handshake, apparently.

I could go on and on

TV: Breaking Bad, Parks and Rec, Archer, GoT, Seinfeld, classic Simpsons, FNL, The Wire, The State, Chappelle's Show, Deadwood, Arrested Development, Firefly, BSG, Justified, Stewart/Colbert, Freaks and Geeks, AHS

Books: LOTR/Silmarillion, Catch-22, House of Leaves, Infinite Jest, Jonathan Strange, GoT (except book 4), Neuromancer, anything by Neal Stephenson, China Mieville, Michael Chabon, Neil Gaiman (yeah, I enjoy the sci-fi/fantasy). buy non-fic aspirationally but tend not to get around to reading it. Lots of blogs - baseball, politics, tech, movie and tv criticism.

Food: While I could survive indefinitely on just french fries, I'll eat just about any type of food, esp. seafood, Japanese, bacon, Chipotle, bbq, Ben's... No mushrooms though!

Music: my music tastes kind of froze in the mid-'00s so I have no idea what's popular these days. Of those artists still around, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Queens of the Stone Age, Aphex Twin, Rancid, Foo Fighters, Go! Team, Tom Petty, Robyn, Moby, Chemical Brothers, Tool
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
All over the place- what rules changes would improve major league baseball, whether to cut the cord, where to travel next (or just go back to London again, and maybe not come back), how to fix the US political system, making ranked lists of random stuff. Am I willing to trade my perfectly-located apartment for a place where I'd be allowed to have a dog?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Glad it's the weekend! Ok ok- a chill evening with friends at happy hour, Jazz in the Garden, dinner, or movie, or at home sinking into the couch with Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
There might be a fantasy baseball trophy in my apartment.

You enjoy funny, intelligent conversation and sandpaper-dry wit.

You like glasses and/or you wear them.

You're a nerdy/geeky type.

You have good sense of humor and don't sweat the small stuff.

After reading all that scintillating prose you just can't help yourself. Seriously though- I like ladies who are willing to make the first move!
