My self-summary
I'm smart, funny, and kind. Well, my sense of humor is dark, because nice ain't funny. But in reality, I'm a good guy. Don't tell anyone. A good friend once described me as "a nice guy with an edge." I'll take that.

Also, I don't use the word "ain't" in regular conversation, just in case you were wondering. I save that for weddings and meeting parents.

If I could sum up what I'm looking for in a YouTube video, it would be this one:

As an update, and I feel weird for having to say this, but I'm in shape. You should be too if we're going to be a match.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it. Trying to keep improving myself and to live better every day. And trying to figure things out, just like everyone else. I stay pretty busy, so I want to spend my free time with someone who's worth it. During the week I work a lot, doing entertainment lawyery stuff. Sure, lawyery is a word. Why not? On the weekends I might be out with friends at an art show/walk, grabbing dinner or drinks, seeing live music or comedy, or tinkering around my house, either fixing things or being crafty.

I have a list of grown up things I'm checking off on my own (house, career, etc.), but it would be great to find someone to share them with. That being said, I'd much rather be single than settle or be with the wrong person. I have a great group of smart, funny, laid back friends, and I can entertain myself to no end. I think if you get bored easily, you're probably boring. So the point of that is I have no problem being single until I find the right one.

Oh, and I love to exercise and try new things (surfing, tennis, rollerblading, you name it), so I'm looking for someone who stays in shape and leads an active lifestyle.
I’m really good at
1. Gallows humor. Totally stole this from a friend's profile, but it fits. Probably explains why we're friends.
2. Writing. Or so I've been told. Online profiles don't count, right?
3. Pool.
4. Cooking. I eat pretty healthy food, for the most part.
5. Playing celebrity look-a-like in public places. Some recent sightings: Crystal meth Hugh Laurie, Steroids Chris Elliott, and Lap-band Jerry Garcia.
6. Animal rescue.
7. Trivia
8. Scoring in the neighborhood of 150 with my Simpsons bowling ball. Impressed? Thought so.
9. Entertaining
10. Fixing stuff around the house. I'm pretty damn handy and resourceful.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm fantastic in bed. People notice that about me right away.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A mix of classics, humor, and sci-fi. Usually all at once.

Movies: Good ones. And ones that are bad enough to be good. I will watch anything to make fun of it. My friends and I could do our own rifftrax. Wanna join?

Shows: Archer, Futurama, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Community, Parks and Rec, Adventure Time, Game of Thrones, Jersey Shore (see above), How I Met Your Mother, History Channel stuff, Discovery Channel stuff. I'm a nerd. That's not a show, I'm just saying that.

Music: Literally, all kinds. Except most new country and R&B.

Food: Literally, all kinds. I love to cook, and I know my way around a kitchen. Though I don't eat a lot of meat. If you think eating pork every day is required to be a man, you're dumb. And probably a Republican. In either case, we won't get along. Don't get me wrong - I'm not a preachy, holier-than-thou vegan type. I'm not even vegetarian. I just happen to like healthy food, and I don't like to be put in a box.
The six things I could never do without
The sun
Good food
Funny people
Red wine and good beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Who would make a better wife: the Santitas tortilla chip girl or the Sunmaid raisins girl.

Whether or not the % match and % friend numbers on here are a good indicator of anything...

Why there is a rule that a girl must be shorter than a guy for both parties to feel secure. Is it really going to come down to protecting her honor in a slam dunk contest?

And how I wish I had the powers of Superman, mostly so I could punish people who are mean to animals. I would spend a LOT of time in China.
On a typical Friday night I am
It all depends. Everyone says they are just as comfortable staying in as going out, but it's true for me. I just bought my first house in California, and I really love making it a fun place to hang out (and no the whole thing is not a man cave, I can get all Martha Stewart when I need to). So I can often be found there watching movies, reading, looking for some art to put up, or tinkering around the place making improvements. I just got a new washer and dryer and I am way more excited about it than I should be. Never going to the laundromat again = life changer.

I have a great group of friends that are very funny (provided you aren't easily disturbed), so I like to go out too. I'm also not afraid of new experiences. I'll go to your black tie charity event (especially if it's for animals) or meet you for a game of shuffleboard at a dive bar, or see an arthouse film, or check out the dinosaur hall at the museum, or try a new restaurant, or take a salsa lesson, or work out with you at the gym.

I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of what L.A. has to offer, and that I'll probably always feel that way, and I love it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm blacklisted from the Grand Hotel in Jerome, Arizona for ghost-related reasons. It's a good story.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 26–34
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
***So it occurs to me that some people might think I'm looking for someone who is ALL of these things. While that would be great, this is just a list of things that popped in my head. You don't need to be all of them.***

Smart. I heart smart girls.

Good looking/in shape, but not conceited about it

A reader (of more than magazines)

A live music fan

An owner of a short skirt and a long jacket (bonus if you get the reference)

Under the delusion that you can beat me at Trivial Pursuit :)

A fan of beer/baseball/football/hockey/cards/comics/sci-fi (a guy can dream) and/or any other typically "guy" things

A beach bum. Or surfer. Or you can take me water skiing (I'm good at it).

An owner of rollerblades or ice skates (or can use them, or want to learn)

You know the difference between "lose" and "loose", "their, there, and they're" and you don't describe yourself as "a women"

You're looking for a nice guy with an edge. :)
