Personality-wise I'm a laid back and easygoing guy - I hear time and time again how "normal" I seem. Guess that's a good thing? I'm able to enjoy simple things in life - walking my dogs through Central Park, conversation and laughter with friends, great art (music, visual, dance, theatre, and literature).

I've noticed with converstions in New York, that within 5 interactions people ask "What do you do for a living?" Not that our work should define us, but it can reflect some of what we are passionate about. I guess I'm more interested to know if someone is excited about what they do. If so, tell me about it - you have my attention!

I do work a lot and wear a couple of different hats. Originally trained/schooled and worked as a classical French Horn player. Did that for several years before I put it on a back burner and built a retail business selling luxury housewares, accessories, bath and body, etc (things people want but don't necessarily need). Now, I'm doing both. I have my retail biz online and am a freelance musician - it works for me. I feel very fortunate to be able to pursue the things I love.

Finding the silver lining in almost any situation. Sometimes mistakes and bad life experiences help form us into better/stronger people. Not that I don't complain or whine about them like everyone else - I just try not to let negativity bog down my life or spirit.

Physically it's probably my eyes and smile that get the most comments. After that, I'm usually told how calm I seem and how at ease people feel being around me. Maybe I'm just a natural sedative? Who knows?

Books: Biographies tend to get my attention, but enjoy a fun read that makes me laugh every now and then as well.

Movies: I enjoy a good film. Everything from classics and old movies to an action pack new release (with a plot other than how many cars can we blow up). Some of my all-time favorites are Paper Moon, Death Becomes Her, Citizen Kane, Mildred Pierce, The Sphere, Aliens, the list goes on.

Television: I don't watch a lot of TV

Music: please don't make me choose. I have WAY too many to list and they vary depending on my mood, what I'm doing, the weather outside, you name it. I usually live life with a melody of some sort going on in the background.

Food: anything with lots of flavor. i love spicy but that doesnt always mean just heat. Italian, Mexican, and Thai I can always find an appetite for. Lazy Sunday brunch with friends is always good as well.

Other than the basics for human survival: friends and human interaction, music, my dogs/family, peace of mind, coffee, and laughter.

Probably doing the same thing I do on any other given evening, but hoping for something more exciting nonetheless.
