Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I guess I'll start with "I was born in Iowa, where I got my little
degree in Marketing at Iowa State. After graduation, I headed to
Atlanta, and five years and a major world catastrophe (9/11) later,
i packed up and came to Chicago.
I recently had to close down two small "quick-serve restaurants"
that I owned on the north side, after spending virtually every
waking moment over the course of eight years hyper-focused on them.
Fortunately for me, I loved the discipline of developing a
business. I'm now in a slightly dazed state of bewilderment, trying
to figure out what to do next. Do I get an old fashioned job? Do I
start up something new? Aack! The pressure!
I'm also a former house music DJ and enjoy the underground house
scene in Chicago and NYC. Maybe I'll get back into that....
If you're into astrology and this means anything to you, I'm told
I'm "an evolved Cancer, but Libra rising and a Saggy moon." So I'm
all kinds of everything, I guess. I'm not really a huge
astrological fanatic, I only include that for your reference,
I am Witty, Resourceful, Awkward and Driven, even when medicated. I
am NOT psychic.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Figuring out the next stage of my life. Do I start up another
business, despite all the odds against me in today‘s economy? I'm
not sure I know how to go back to a regular 9-5! I'm an
entrepreneur at heart and truly enjoy the challenges of developing,
building and growing a business concept... As long as one day soon
I'll get to sell it off for lots of money. So, we'll see.
If you have ANY interest in the same challenges, please step to the
front of the line. I would LOVE to spend my life with someone cool
who would be interested in the same thing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Hands-on things. I love taking things apart and putting them back
together. Who needs manuals? I'm a Jack-of-all-trades, incredibly
resourceful, and not afraid to try anything new.
I truly learned throughout my experience owning the pizza joints
that I can really do ANYTHING. I had to learn how to do everything
on my own because I never had money to pay others to do it!
Accounting? I can do that. Install lighting electrical? I can do
that. Basic Plumbing? No problem. Design a website? Install a sound
system? Lay tile? Build a wall? Sure.
It was like the frigging Matrix; I needed to do something, so I
read up on it quick and boom, there it is.
HOWEVER... All that said, I learned something more important: I can
do anything, but I can't do EVERYTHING. Not on my own. I need to
practice delegating more. I need to let others in on the project,
and depending on the nature of the relationship (assuming boss vs
employee here), then I have to set standards and hold people
In a relationship though, whole different ballgame. It's still all
about communication, but there's a lot more compromise. I'm up for

I hate superlatives, so the "best" or my "favorite" of anything
doesn't exist for me. I like something if I like it. Except that my
favorite music is House. Gotta have my deep, soulful House.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where the hell am I going in life? For right years, all I thought
about was the business and how to make it better. That's all I
thought about. (Sigh.) Well, that and societal inequalities. So now
I gotta take the good and learn from the bad. Onward and upward.
