I am a bit jaded, but still hopeful, and willing to wait....

My Self-Summary

I'm just an average Joe doin' my thing. I'm a pretty laid back guy for the most part, although, I am sure I have my "moments" as much as the next person.

I'm a city dweller/worker, but not one of those San Franciscans that never leaves the city, so if you live in the East Bay or something, don't count me out.

In some ways I'm an inch deep and 1,000 miles wide - I know/have experienced a little bit about a ton of things in my life, but would hesitate to consider myself an expert in any one area. I am ALWAYS on the search for more experience, knowledge, understanding, enlightenment etc. I hope that whoever I connect with can add to this (and vice versa).

I tend to embarrass the living crap out of myself on the vast majority of 1st dates with people. Just think, you too could have a really funny story about me!! (I know, more exciting than you can possibly imagine, right?)

I'm not into game playing - but I keep seeming to run into women who are. I am hoping to meet someone who's as honest and blunt as I am so everyone's on the same page. It makes life MUCH easier. If you're big into the whole passive aggressive thing - please drive through.

What I’m doing with my life

Working my butt off, loving my career. I'm also on the proverbial journey to self discovery - we only get one turn around on this ride called life, I want to learn and do as much as I can in the time I'm allotted.

I’m really good at

Really? You want me to brag about stuff here? Seems self serving, but...I guess:

Being a goofball, kissing, cooking, listening, smelling good, and retaining strange bits of trivia, pampering, troubleshooting PC issues (I do IT support for a living), reading people (which tends to be more of a curse than a blessing), being brutally honest, etc.

The first things people usually notice about me

My tattoos or my eyes. My bluntness - I'm from the Nation's "Crapitol" aka "Chocolate City", Washington DC - and folks tend to just say what's on their mind there. Some Cali natives find this abrasive - but I see no reason to BS people.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(edited for brevity)

Authors: Tom Robbins, Anais Nin, Piers Anthony, Vonnegut, Edward Savio, Bret Easton Ellis, Jared Diamond, Douglas Adams, Ken Kesey, Michael Pollan, HP Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Chuck Palahniuk, etc.

Movies: Star Wars (4, 5 & 6 - the originals!), Tetsuo: The Iron Man, Devil's Backbone, Superbad, Grandma's Boy, Human Traffic, the Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, Equilibrium, High Fidelity, Dark City, Amores Perros, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 50 1st Dates, The Fountain, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Amelie, Killing Zoe, Trailer Park Boys, The Fountain, What The &*$! Do We Know?, Baraka, BatMan: The Dark Knight, etc.

Music: Electronic Dance Music (house, breakbeat, techno, d&b, downtempo, trance etc.), punk, metal, jazz, blues, reggae, hip-hop, rock-a-billy/psychobilly, classic rock, etc. If I tried to list all the bands/artists I enjoy, it'd take me a week...just ask!

(for those who have requested examples: Silversun Pickups, Hot Snakes, The Obits, Immortal Technique, Propagandhi, The Clash, Minor Threat, The Ramones, Iggy & The Stooges, David Bowie, New Order, Pailhead, Meat-Beat-Manifesto, NIN, Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force, Soul Coughing, Jane's Addiction (pre-breakups), The Cure, Fugazi, Jawbox, Sonic Youth, Pharcyde, Cypress Hill, Azeem & Dj Zeph, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Charlie Mingus, the Reverend Horton Heat, Tenderloin, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Pato Banton, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Slayer, Meshuggah, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, LTJ Bukem, Underworld, Thievery Corp, Redstickman, Derrick Carter, Kickflip, Claude Von Stroke, NOFX, Agent Orange, The Horrorpops, Joy Division, Patsy Cline...)

Food: Italian, Thai, Indian, Cajun, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, French, Spanish, Peruvian, etc. (if it's GOOD, I probably like it)

The six things I could never do without

1. Music 2. Kissing 3. Family 4. Shoes 5. Showers 6. Information/Knowledge

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What motivates people to do the things they do.

How I can become filthy rich without killing myself with work. (and if I discover the trick I'll be sure to let you all know, hehe)

What it takes to fall in love in San Francisco.

On a typical Friday night I am

Killing the living dead, consuming potent potables, enjoying the rock and the roll, shakin' the proverbial tailfeather or other such nonsense.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I created gravity and some other interesting phenomenon you may be familiar with - but keep that on the DL, I don't want word getting out and then have to sign all of those autographs and deal with the paternity suits.

You should message me if

You're good at follow through. You're sincere, genuine and understand the meaning of "common courtesy". You're interested in falling madly and deeply in love...not necessarily with me, but in general. You're passionate without being obsessive or possessive. You want to be the yin to someone's yang (and vice versa). You can teach me things...I love to be taught anything!

You're *not* one of those people that tells someone to message them or to correspond, when in reality you have no intention of doing so whatsoever.
