I am dependable, loyal, and witty..

My Self-Summary

Howdy folks.

My name's Ryan and I'm from a sleepy little beach town in Northern California. I love warm weather, the beach, good food, mixed drinks, history, rational debate, science, foreign languages, procrastination, online news, and Youtube.

I have pretty realistic expectations, and my head's more often grounded here on earth rather than up in the clouds. Ideally, I'll be able to meet some cool guys on here. I like dating. If I find strong chemistry, a relationship is something I'm open to.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently a junior at Harvard. Academics are important to me, and I spend a significant amount of time studying, reading, or working away at problem sets. I like to think I've struck a comfortable balance between work and play. By no means am I a homebody; however, I know what my responsibilities are and work pretty hard to achieve what I want to achieve. Now, that isn't to say I can't procrastinate like it's nobody's business. Facebook and Youtube are vices. For some people it's alcohol, for others it's crack snorted off the backs of midgets. For me, it's online entertainment. Sue me.

5 year plan? 10 year plan? Not really sure. I'm concentrating in Chemistry at the moment and consider it pretty intense. After I graduate I plan on taking a year or two off. A lot of people have recommended that I do so, and I think it's a good idea. Perhaps I'll find myself during that time. After my 12 months in Europe getting drunk, hooking up, and holding up small, family-owned businesses for stripper money... that is, my year off... I may apply to medical or grad school in NYC or Cali. All these plans are tentative, though... Who knows where life will take me!

I’m really good at

I'm pretty good at curved arrow mechanisms and retrosynthesis. Don't know what either of those are? Don't worry. That makes you normal and me a weirdo. It's alright, laugh.

Umm... I'm quite good at cooking, baking, and taking friends to tasty local restaurants. I'm also a skilled procrastinator, debater, and devil's advocate. I'm good at organizing things, planning things out, and fucking bitches and hos (and using my strong pimp hand when necessary).

The first things people usually notice about me

I'd say aside from my physical attributes, my most prominent feature is my sense of humor. It tends to stay on the dry/sarcastic side, but I don't discriminate. I can see a joke in almost any situation. For me, humor is very therapeutic. I'd much rather laugh about something than cry about it, and often do. That may offend some, but I try to surround myself with people who can take a joke. Teasing can be fun, as long as there exists a mutual understanding that it comes from a negative place. I don't take myself too seriously.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books. I haven't finished a novel since 11th grade. Now, while this fact is ostensibly at odds with my appreciation for intelligence, proper grammar, or even the fact that I go to Harvard... well... OK, it probably is. I'm not a huge fan of reading novels. I tend to stick to non-fiction or something indulgent or silly. Something along the lines of Dan Brown, David Sedaris, or Chelsea Handler... you know... the great writers of our generation. If I had time to read Hemingway, I'd probably go work out or eat cheese or something. Next.

Movies. I'm not really a snob when it comes to movies. I like mostly anything. Especially something with a complex plot or exceptional directing. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is my favorite movie. Inglorious Bastards, A Beautiful Thing, Gran Torino, The Silence of the Lambs, Saw I/II/III, Blades of Glory, Zoolander, and Anchorman are also faves.

Music: Not super picky here either. I very much dislike screamo/death metal. Not usually a fan of ganster rap or emo music. I like pop, opera, R&B, classical, country, and international. Mostly, I love good musicianship and vocal ability. Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Bryan McKnight, Boys II Men, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Sumi Jo, Pavarotti, Maria Callas, David Archuletta, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, Harel Skaat, and Dolly Parton are some of my all-time favorite vocalists. There are probably 20 or 30 more, but space here is limited. I love Mozart piano sonatas, Rach concertos, and almost anything by Liszt and Chopin.

Food. I'm a huge foodie. It's a big passion of mine. I've tasted many, many things and I'm always looking to try something new and exotic. I'm not a big animal rights person -- I LOVE meat. That's non-negotiable. If you can't stand the sight of a man enjoying the sweet flesh and soul of a baby animal, then move along. Really. JK... but not really. Foie gras, baked stuffed lobster, medium-rare steaks, fancy cupcakes, mushrooms, and anything spicy complete my life. I'll cook or go out to dinner as much as I can. This is what I spend most of my (well, and mommy and daddy's) money on.

The six things I could never do without

1. Intelligent Friends
2. Good Food
3. Good Music
4. The Internet
5. My Health
6. Genital Stimulation. Duh.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How to make your mother scream my name in bed. Or... no, that's about it.

On a typical Friday night I am

Friday nights usually consist of dinner out with friends (or with that special someone), some planning, phone calls, possibly a little work, checking out parties on campus, mostly getting CRUNK.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I was actually born with 11 toes.

...minus one toe.

You should message me if

Hmm... right, well message me if you feel like we'd get along. I suppose I'm not for everybody, so this profile should help you in some respect. I'm looking for somebody dependable, trustworthy, and honest. Somebody who can take a joke and somebody who I can fully respect.

For dates (to truly make this a gay dating profile):

Ages 18 to 24 ONLY. Preferably another college student in the Boston area. Somebody around my height (5'8") or taller. Be physically fit (I'm reasonable, you be too) and care about your hygiene and physical appearance. Gays tend to think they're better looking than they are. If you're delusional, then get away!!! NOW!!! Hrmmm... not a big fan of body hair, if that ever comes up. Um ya...
