To be completely honest with you, I'm not quite sure how much to
say here. It's always a little difficult trying to give an accurate
self description without sounding either overly boastful or
exceptionally vague... So here we go...
First off, my name is Derrick, (Isn't it nice when people properly introduce themselves)! I'm a fairly articulate, well educated, erudite male in his mid twenty's. I consider myself to be a pretty easygoing individual and I value my kind nature, solid moral core and ethical outlook on life above all else. I’m a very socially and environmentally conscience individual, who tries his best, at the very least, to be a good human. And though in the grand scheme of things I know I'm still rather young, I believe I have managed to pack quite a lifetime of experience into a relatively short period of time on this planet. I'd like to think of myself as a bit of an "Old Soul"...if you believe in that sort of thing...
I've never been one to put much stock in the whole idea of online dating, but I suppose I'm just getting tired of meeting the same particular type of women out at the bars or getting fixed up by friends who, though full of great intentions, seem to have a difficult time understanding what it is I'm looking for in a woman.
In a perfect world, I'd like a partner who has a strong, self confident spirit with solid morals. Intelligence and a genuine thirst for knowledge is a must! Someone who posses the ability to carry on an articulate, and mentally stimulating conversation who is goal oriented and knows what they want out of life. To be honest, I'm really just looking for someone ready to settle down with a good solid man. Someone who has reached that point in their lives where they understand the balance between being responsible and yet maintaining a healthy social life! Someone who wants to get treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve, and can offer a fair, honest and equal relationship right back. Not too much to ask for I hope...
And just for a little icing on the cake... I spent the early part of my college years as a Chef for a restaurant that catered to the Vegan and Vegetarian lifestyle, which instilled in me a great love for culinary experimentation. I love to cook and I definitely know how to entice one's pallet as well as their mind! Perhaps some day we can whip up a little adventure in the kitchen together...
