My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an easy going, well-educated male. No kids, (Not that I'm opposed to them), my own home nestled in the orchards, and a great job! I'd like to think of myself as a bit of an "Old Soul" with progressive tendencies...

I spend a lot of time working out in the yard and love everything to do with the outdoors so I'd like to find someone who doesn't mind getting a little dirty from time to time! I'm definitely a genuine, "Jack of all Trades", kind of guy, that can fix just about anything and have lately been spending most of my free time doing a complete renovation on my 1906 Victorian Farmhouse.

So…”What’s the Catch?” you may be asking yourself… “Why is this great sounding guy still single?”

Well, to be honest… one of the down sides to being a responsible adult with a full time job, and a big house to restore means my free time is rather limited... As I’m sure some of you can relate to, It’s hard to get out and participate in the type of venues where single people typically find each other… I'm just getting tired of meeting the same particular type of women out at the bars and getting fixed up by friends who, (though full of great intentions), seem to have a difficult time understanding what it is I'm looking for in a partner in crime.

That said, I'd like to find someone with a strong, self-confident spirit. Intelligence and a genuine thirst for knowledge is a must! Someone who possess the ability to carry on an articulate, and mentally stimulating conversation who is goal oriented and knows what they want out of life. To be honest, I'm really just looking for someone ready to settle down with a good man. Someone who has reached that point in their lives where they understand the balance between being responsible and yet maintaining a healthy social life! Someone who wants to get treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve, and can offer a fair, honest and equal relationship right back. Not too much to ask for I hope...

And just for a little icing on the cake... I spent the early part of my college years as a Chef which instilled in me a great love for culinary experimentation. I love to cook and I definitely know how to entice one's pallet as well as their mind! Perhaps someday we can whip up a little adventure in the kitchen together...

So for those of you who have managed to make it all the way through that, congratulations! There's still plenty more to learn if you’re interested, but you'll have to find out over a nice cup of coffee somewhere. So come on, don't be shy, click that message button and say hello!

Or if you'd rather say howdy with a little more substance, you can also find me over on the ol’ “book of faces" if that's more comfortable for you. Just let me know how you found me so I don't spam you.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Now there's a real question... Well as far as daily life goes, I am the Senior Project Administrator for Alternative Energy Systems. Inc. (Big fancy office job in the solar industry). I have a Bachelors in Business Administration with an emphasis on sustainable management practices and am looking into getting my MBA and possibly a teaching credential.

I am a very socially and politically active Liberal, (Yes I know that may scare a few of you away, so if you have a problem with Progressive, Democratic ideological viewpoints I suppose you had better move on quickly before I cause you any grief)!

On the rare occasion that I have some free time to be unproductive, I can usually be found either hanging out with friends or elbow deep in grease and motor oil restoring my old 1964 f-100 custom cab pickup. Which should be ready to take out cruising here any time now...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
A ton of things! Too many in fact to list here! I'm a very multi-talented, "Jack of all Trades", kind of guy... Again, you'll have to get a cup of coffee with me sometime to find out more.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I suppose that would have to be my gregarious nature. I'm a very social creature who isn't afraid to be the life of the party when necessary...

When it comes to literature, I've always been intrigued and delighted by those that can successfully intertwine science, theology, and history all in a thrilling adventure... Which may explain my fascination with the following works:
Everything by Dan Brown, James Rollins and Steve Berry, as well as these timeless classics....
"Blasphemy" by Douglas Preston
"Oryx and Crake" by Margaret Atwood
"The Blind Watchmaker" by Richard Dawkins
"The Book of Air and Shadows" by Michael Gruber
"The mind of the Raven" by Bernd Heinrich
"The Theory of Everything" by Stephen Hawking
"The Dragons of Eden" by Carl Sagan
"Fabric of the Cosmos" by Brian Greene
...and about a thousand other titles that come to mind. I also have an active subscription to Scientific American Mind, Discovery, Wired, Adbusters and Popular Science! I really do love to read, and I soak up knowledge like a sponge...Anything to keep my mind stimulated!

Movies: To be honest, I'll watch damn near anything! I don't care if its a multi-million dollar Hollywood flick or a low-budget Indy film. As long as I have someone to curl up on the couch next to while watching.
Some of my favorite movies include: Princess Bride, The Big Lebowski, City of Lost Children, High Fidelity, Thank You For Smoking, Snatch, and The Boondock Saints...

As far as TV goes, I'm pretty eclectic: Dr. Who & Big Bang Theory are by far some of my favorites, but others include: Dexter, Game of Thrones, Arrested Development, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Through the Wormhole, American Pickers, and pretty much anything SciFi.

As for Music: I suppose I listen to a little bit of everything. Usually my radio is dialed into NPR however, I have been listening to a little more bluegrass and folk music lately... I love the Blues and yes even a little country from time to time, but will listen to almost anything from "The Duhks" to "Cake". I also have a pretty eclectic music collection that's bordering the 320,000 song mark.
(P.S. If you already know who The Duhks are Bonus points for you!)

And Finally Food: As I mentioned above, I used to be a chef for a restaurant that catered more to the vegan and vegetarian lifestyle, so when it comes to all things culinary, I must confess that I am a little more adventurous than your average guy! I'm very creative when it comes making meals and I love to stretch my pallet as far as it will go! I've made it a point to try just about anything once... I also really love cooking with other people, so if your into playing around in the kitchen, I'd love to whip up a meal or two with you!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Dark Roast Coffee, Thunderstorms, Good Books, Stimulating Conversation, Great Friends and My Amazing Family.... I know that makes 6, but to be honest, bacon fits in there somewhere!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Solar rebate programs... What the future holds... Whether I should go back to school and finish my Masters?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Kicking back and relaxing with friends for a little "Front Porch" Friday action... Playing ping pong while doing a some Craft Beer tasting with the neighbors, or just tying to unwind after a long week with a good book / movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm honestly probably the closest thing to a stereotypical "Good Guy" as you can get! Part Eagle Scout, part hopeless romantic...100% genuine.
