My self-summary
I feel like I should lay this out there right from the start: there's a good chance I may be relocating to the Pacific Northwest sometime in the next couple months. So if any of you Oregon or Washington people want to show a newbie around when I get there, that would be awesome!

What's up! My name's Dustin, and I'm an alco...oh wait, wrong place. :)

So, you want to know a little about myself? Take an ounce of passion, add two tablespoons of sarcasm, a cup of kindness, a dash of sugar, a pinch of dork (ok, maybe two pinches), a sprinkling of dirty humor to taste, blend, chill, and you've got me! I may not take myself too seriously, but the same can't be said about the important things in my life - my friends and family, my career, and my passion for woodworking. Yep, that's right, I play with wood (the jokes, they write themselves...).

Friends and family mean everything to me. If I consider you a friend (or more than that), you can be sure that I will be there for you in times of need, no matter what. This life isn't about how much money you make, or how many cool toys you own, or all the fancy places you travel to - it's about those who you spent all that time with.

I don't want to give all the surprises away, so feel free to ask if you'd like to know more!
What I’m doing with my life
After wasting way too much of it working jobs I wasn't passionate about, I've been fortunate enough to have finally found a career that I love. I work for a growing power tool company that offers plenty of advancement potential, and I get to work with brands that I have tons of respect and admiration for. Plus the tools we develop tie-in to my woodworking hobby, which makes it that much better! I certainly see myself with this company for the long-haul, and am putting in serious effort to move up the ladder.
I’m really good at
Cracking awful jokes (see above), working movie quotes into everyday conversation, swearing like a sailor (but don't worry, I can turn it off when the situation calls for it), and not taking myself too seriously. I'm also not half bad at creating cool shit in my workshop, and I'm a pretty awesome when it comes to listening.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: It's my life! I listen to a little bit of everything from Bad Religion to Kaskade to Childish Gambino. I grew up on punk rock, and unlike other genres, I'm still as passionate about it as I was when I discovered it 15 years ago. I do branch out from rapid-fire power chords too - I've got a growing obsession with EDM, and sprinkle in a little ska/reggae, classic rock, hip-hop/rap, and folk here and there. The only stuff you won't find me listening to is to is jazz (I respect the art form, just have no interest), country, and shitty manufactured pop.

Movies: I consider myself a movie buff, and can find something in just about every genre that I'd enjoy. I tend to favor action, comedies and drama flicks. And I can pretty much quote The Big Lebowski beginning to end.

TV: Like movies, I favor comedies and dramas. A few: Archer, The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Suits, Burn Notice, Modern Family, Dexter, Californication...this list could go on for awhile.

Books: I'm not much of a bookworm, but a few that I've enjoyed: Ender's Game, Jurassic Park, Life of Pi.

Food: Mexican food is my weakness!
The six things I could never do without
I'm stretching the rules on this one...

- My friends + family
- My workshop
- My cellphone + headphones + Spotify app
- A vehicle of some sort
- My sunglasses
- A bathroom (so I can clean up regularly - I hate not showering!)
- You? ;)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work-related stuff. Why people believe what they believe and do what they do. Where I would and wouldn't like to be transferred to when I get promoted. What piece of equipment I want to add to my workshop next. What projects I'd like to tackle. If this whole online dating thing will work out or if it'll be a waste of time. When the zombie apocalypse will hit. Why it took the Chargers so long to fire Norv and AJ. What the hell is going on with the Lakers this season. And about 50,000 useless things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing at home after a long week of work or heading down to San Diego for good times.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
...I'll admit in person. Feel free to ask!
