My self-summary
Hello, nice to meet you. Thank you for visiting my profile. I hope you enjoy the tour. You will find on the right we have a quick layout of who I think I am based on some push buttons. I also have answered a few of the questions so that might help as well.

Because I work indoors during the day I have this kind of love hate relationship with a thing called "The Sun". We do meet on the weekends, but she tends to feel like I don't pay attention to her enough. So to fix this I am on the road to getting in shape.

Note: (1-27-13) "The Sun" and I have been getting to know each other a bit better, but I am also getting to know the moon (Polyamorous - LOL) by getting out more in the evenings as well. (I also discovered that the window blinds in my room have an open "setting") Getting there!

I have a season pass to Disney so I will either go to play with friends or on my own I make a full walking circuit of the park WITHOUT stopping at the pastry stand in Paris (EPCOT is my favorite of the parks). Will be getting my pass to Universal back after the summer. Wanna join me in some theme parking?

I also live near Wekiva Springs so I do take out the occasional kayak but I would probably do it more if I had someone along to share the adventure. It is very relaxing going up stream, but I could really use some help coming back against the current! :-)

The next adventures are going to be weekend day trips - haven't been to St. Pete/Clearwater in what feels like forever. Need to give the new tires (on the car) a shakedown!
What I’m doing with my life
I have been teaching film in Orlando for 11 1/2 years now - Film Criticism is my latest subject - but I am taking my life experiences and my Masters in Entertainment Business and working on starting my own business. The rest of what I am doing you either read above or can ask about if you like.
I’m really good at
Cooking lamb. No seriously, do you know what it takes to make a good lamb. (If you do then we should chat, compare notes).
The first things people usually notice about me
I have been told it's my hair. Not so much the style but the fact that when I'm working on a project I tend to think by putting my hand in my hair, so when I get up the hair tends to be, um, shall we say, going in dramatically different directions.

Of course there is also the suspenders and occasional bowtie. (Bowties are cool)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite TV show - Doctor Who (and we are talking all the Doctors, not just the new stuff). I tend to have on the H2 Channel - History Channels little brother - as the History Channel itself has become a bit to "reality tv". Thurday night it's hangout time with my son watching Big Bang Theory, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (DVRed), I was watching Eureka and Chuck until they ended both. :-(
(update - I recently decided to go internet only since most of the things I like to watch stream the day after they air. But I do watch them on my HD TV because my computer is just great that way.)

Movies - I am a big fan of classic movies, not too thrilled with current state of comedic movies but the superhero ones are starting to kick ass. Sci-Fi is pretty dominate, but actually I am more of a movie escapist. There is enough drama in our lives so the two hour break from it in the dark theater is a bit of a recharge.

Books - I am kind of the walking commercial for audio books. I get distracted, so pop one on in the car and get through it in a couple of days back and forth to work. As for the rest, I read a number of film journals and periodicals.

Music - if I like the song it is my kind of music. On my iTunes I have a list that starts with Ringo Starr and goes to The Verb and then to Phantom of the Opera, followed by Kelly Clarkson, Credence, Meatloaf, Art of Noise, Blind Guardian, Pink Floyd, Sheryl Crow, Trivium, Metalica, Chess, the list is too long.....
The six things I could never do without
My kids
My friends
My humor
My geek flag
My computer (recently coupled with an iPhone - yes I went to the dark side!)
Movies
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I think about a lot has changed since the time I first wrote this profile. I think about - and act on - where I am now and where I want to be tomorrow. And even though they're 19 and 22, I still try to focus on the needs and happiness of my kids.
On a typical Friday night I am
My least favorite word is "typical". I could be doing just about anything. Home, movie, work, facebook (that has become a destination of sorts). Have no idea. What do you wanna get up to?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I teach writing but I still need to cheat and use the grammar/spelling auto checker in Word and Pages. :-)
