My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Politics and just thinking in general is important to me; one of the few personal traits that I cannot abide in others is a complete lack of critical thought or interest in the world. I have many leftist leanings in my personal political continuum, but I do my very best to listen to the views of others and maintain an open mind. Intellectual honesty, particularly the realization that there is no pure ideal in any viewpoint, is an important thing as well.
All that makes me sound like an incredibly serious person, but I'm not. I like to joke and I can be extremely sarcastic, almost to a fault. I'm pretty tall, which seems to scare some people off, but in most situations I'm a total teddy bear.

I am exuberant, machiavellian, and gregarious
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working at a small textbook company and doing freelance work on the side, trying to save some money and eventually maybe finish writing this book I've been fooling with for around 5 years now.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Writing, some video games, Adobe Photoshop.
The first things people usually notice about me

Judging by the sheer number of times I've heard "Wow, you're tall", I would say its probably that I am 6ft8in tall. Next would probably be my deep bass voice.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Love, Macintosh computers, loud techno music, cats, NPR News, unread books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Earth, its present, past and future. I feel humans have largely abused our position at the pinnacle of the food chain and exploited the resources of the planet for too long. If we don't reform our behavior we are certainly headed for a fall. Check out the excellent novel Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, which I wrote my senior english thesis on, for a great vision of where our current path leads.

I believe it will take radical changes in our behavior and technology to save us from the inevitable consequences of our overproduction. We need an effective way to lower the birth rate in both developing and developed countries, an end to meaningless military conflicts, and a general sense of unity as a species. We should extend the benefits of technology to the entire world, not just those with the money to make it worth our while. We should redistribute wealth in a sane fashion so that no one has to starve or commit crime just to survive.

We also NEED space flight, its not just a pipe dream that a few rich elitists want to see realized, its the single most important effort in the survival of our species. Assuming we don't kill each other off or lose our technology completely, only the resources and expertise we'll gain in space can keep us moving forward and keep our society sustainable.
On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with my Wife, maybe playing either Wii or Xbox 360, my gamertag is KingBullitTrain.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I would do anything, kill/cheat/lie/screw anyone if it got me on a space vessel heading to mars or some other planet with intent to colonize that rock. I've grown a bit bored with this one.
