My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Generally friendly and easygoing. Sometimes quiet, sometimes not. Too understated to be the life of the party, but people are usually happy to see me, from what I can tell anyway.

I'm a musician, but it's not my job and I don't really plan for it to be. Everybody says "do what you love." But if I'm working for somebody else, it just never works out. For me, it's much more fun this way. I'm currently playing in a band that I like to describe as loud, fuzzy rock n roll. It's the best project I've been a part of yet. Except...I just started collaborating with a friend, doing something a little more electronic and 80s inspired. That is also the best project I've been a part of yet. Hmm.

For work, I still do something I really enjoy, especially now. I got hired by some friends a little over a year ago at a small startup downtown where everybody knows each other. It's awesome.

Also, it's pretty important that you watch this now.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working in the videogames industry (currently mobile games), writing music, hanging out with friends, going to lots of live shows, enjoying all of the food and drink that Capitol Hill has to offer, snowboarding in the winter (just started a year ago. so awesome!) and currently trying to figure out what to do this summer.

Edit: I figured it out. At 2 months away from 39, I decided to learn to skateboard. I shoulda done this years ago. It's too much fun. I can't even do anything yet and I already like it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Not liking to talk about how good I am at things. But, ok, I've been playing music my whole life, and I like to think that I am good at it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've heard people like my laugh. Whether it's the first thing they notice or not? I guess that depends on how funny they are. That said, it usually doesn't take much.

Music: Constantly rotates. I try to keep this current. Death From Above, Mr. Gnome, Eight and a Half, Jeff the Brotherhood, Electric Youth, Marijuana Deathsquads, FKA Twigs, Home Video, Tycho, XVIII Eyes, Metz, Fey Moth, Bombay Bicycle Club, Deafhaven, Radiohead, LP, The Raveonettes, Azealia Banks, Iamamiwhoami, and all of the songs Beck wrote for Scott Pilgrim vs the World. And...this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIbmU1bce2c&feature=youtu.be

Books: Never Let Me Go, Looking for Alaska, The Windup Girl, The Little Prince, His Dark Materials and Gone Girl (just saw the movie. It was good! I liked the ending in the book better, but they did a really good job otherwise).

Movies: Donnie Darko, Mulholland Drive, The Princess Bride, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Drive, The City of Lost Children, Enter the Void, House of Yes, Rid of Me. Also, The Shining is my favorite horror movie. I saw a preview of it when I was 5 or so when my mom took me to see Popeye (I'm assuming they showed it because Shelly Duvall was in both), and it scared the shit out of me. Ever since then, I wondered what it was. When I finally saw it, the scene from the preview (where the hall fills up with blood) gave me the biggest chills. So awesome.

Shows: Archer, Firefly (and pretty much anything else Whedon), Arrested Development, Californication, Always Sunny, Breaking Bad, True Detective and Game of Thrones.
The six things I could never do without

I'm hilarious, I know. Thanks.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At a show and/or hanging out with friends. Or staying in and getting some sleep after the week. Or whatever. I'm easy.
