My self-summary
Married, father of two. Political activist. Suspected naturist. Honest. Happy. Kind. Busy in a start-up. Content.

Looking for a workout partner and maybe girlfriend. I love to hike and skinny dip in the Green Belt or swim laps at Hippie Hollow. Currently, I'm doing laps at the East Side Y. I'd rather find a swimming partner for Big Stacy or Barton Springs. Maybe on a lunch break?

Beyond working out, I would love to just have drinks and flirt a little. Wife is cool with me dating others. Don't do it much. But it happens from time to time. If you're looking for a full time partner, then I'm already spoken for. If you're looking for an occasional or frequent partner, date, dinner companion, or more daily workout companion, then I may be your man.

And yes, I am tall, dark, and handsome (at least, so I'm told).

What I’m doing with my life
Trying to change the world. . . for the better. . . Through raising good kids, political activism, lifestyle, and hopefully good choices all around. Spend a lot of time thinking about how to live a thoughtful life (is that recursive or redundant?)

I’m really good at
Backrubs, trivia, two-stepping, politics, dinner conversation, talking other people into getting naked and, evidently, starting businesses.

The first things people usually notice about me
Am I standing or sitting? Height, eyes, facial hair. Am I skinny dipping?

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Read LOTS of books years ago, then the kids came along. Mostly, read short stuff, now: Scientific American, Make, news, web ad infinitum. Done the Patrick O'Brien thing. Twice. A little non-fiction re: peak oil, politics, etc. Re-visit the sci-fi classics every now and then. Don't get me wrong. Reading is critical to my life. 12+ hours a day. It's just that having the time to read a BOOK, well, that's just luxury. On the other hand, if you want the latest on European monetary policy I'm your man.

Music? Opera to Country, Singer/Songwriter to Phillip Glass. If the radio is on, it's on KUT.

Food? I'll try damn near anything, once or twice. Except brussels sprouts. Or dill pickles.

Movies? I gave up complex, painful, interpersonal drama years ago. Sure, I can watch a good movie, but I get sucked in to the emotional stress too much with the good ones. Yea, I know it's only a movie, but I feel like I'm living them--why go there? What does that leave? Documentaries, action, comedies, sci-fi, even Euro stuff is cool. Horror? Right out. Unless it's about zombies.....

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Sex and politics. Being a good dad. A good husband.

Beyond that? I'm wondering why an atheist spends so much time wondering about the place rituals have in our lives. I keep searching for something that might fulfill a "spiritual" but not a "religious" need. Meditation, massage, yoga, all have their place. But I can find the same focus in a long swim, great sex, or a good game of dominoes. Are these rituals? Maybe--they certainly all have their unique rewards and yet they share similar attributes: focus, discipline, joy, release. (Obviously, some more than others!) I'd be very interested in suggestions of how to elevate any, or all, of them to the ritual level.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a disorganized nudist. I run around naked like a pagan/druid/new born baby. And I'm quite good at getting other people to join me. Hell, that's not even private.

I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 20–60
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
any of the above sounds good. Especially if you need a swimming buddy, want to skinny dip, run around naked, discuss non-religious rituals, discuss politics, flirt, or discuss the practical aspects of an open relationship.

Hey! Wait. That is "any of the above."
