When I was a kid, I always wanted to be a comic. I never ended up
trying it but I think I got the best alternative. I get to wake up
each day and go onto the stage of teaching where I can partially
live my dream of being a comic.
I'm a teacher and I teach middle schoolers. I just heard your
groan. Don't worry... they're not THAT bad. It works out, I am that
teacher who likes to have fun both in and out of the classroom.
Also, I think my personality is one that stands out. When I'm
excited about something I can be very visually descriptive. I
suppose you could almost say I'm like my "class clown" of my
teaching staff. I am the one making students and teachers laugh
What I’m doing with my life
After I graduated from college, I managed to get myself a teachers job that same summer. (Check off the list of "The nearly impossible" for our generation.) In the short term, I play hockey regularly during the week about 2 to 3 times through out the week. I also keep up my street cred as a gamer and play random video games in my free time.
I’m really good at
I am an expert procrastinator. I doubt many can touch my level of professional procrastination... I am good at being random and goofy I suppose?
I have fun playing hockey... I don't call my self "good" I just like to enjoy myself and that's all I care about. I can cook pretty decently especially when I can follow some recipes.
The first things people usually notice about me
Depends where I am, if I'm in public or larger group, I'm usually
quiet and in my own world.
If I am in the classroom or at work I am usually in the direction
of all of the laughter.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I am a fan of science fiction, historical fiction, and fantasy novels. However, I never really became someone who is an avid reader, I enjoy reading articles and stories online but for some reason I have always struggled sitting down to a book when there are so many other outlets to discover stories (movies or games).
Some favorite movies are: Big Lebowski, Tommy Boy, In Bruges, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Donnie Darko, Office Space, 5th element, 28 Days Later. (I suck at going out and seeing movies on a regular basis there are so many more to this list but I don't really like listing everything.)
Shows: Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black, Doctor Who, IT Crowd, Always Sunny, Workaholics, Louie, and science and/or history documentaries.
My music taste generally is around Rock. Some favorite would have to be Radiohead, The Black Keys, Metric, Sublime, Muse, Bob Marley, Jimmy Hendrix, and Beatles.
I love most any foods but I can not bring myself to eat olives.
The six things I could never do without
2. A quiet place to unwind and procrastinate.
6. Some sort of Camera
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next lesson, teaching, music, history, science, space and time, figuring out what to eat and/or cook later.
On a typical Friday night I am
I enjoy staying in and relaxing. I am probably more of a homebody
but I'm am not against going out with some friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have zero debt from going to college.
You should message me if
You're not one to rush into things. I like to take my time and am looking for someone with patience and that is looking for a long term thing. :)
