I am a mild mannered mathematician who is works for the Department of Defense. Go figure.

I have two grown sons who are incredible and both are now married to Japanese women.

Along with Rod Stewart, I am passionate about the World’s Greatest Hobby. And so, this is where I get my Nom de Plume, “DaphitedFan” as in the “Gorre and Daphetid.”

For a number of years, I would teach mathematics at a local university and I especially enjoyed working with students from many different cultures and nationalities. One of the most satisfying aspects of teaching was to get really difficult mathematics across to students. I would particularly enjoy spending Saturdays with them before exams.

I love the arts and I especially enjoy going to concerts and seeing operas both in New York and at NJPAC. I have enjoyed going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, the Guggenheim and the New York Botanical Gardens.

Working at a very interesting job, restoring my house and looking to meet someone who could share my dreams.

Favorite Movies: Modesty Blaise; Lawrence of Arabia; Schindler's List; The 400 Blows; The Usual Suspects; The Shawshank Redemption.
Operas: Cosi fan tutte; Figaro; Don Giovanni; Madame Butterfly, Carmen; Tosca; The Magic Flute.
Music: classical (Beethoven is really hot); Gerry Mulligan, Paul Desmond, Alexis Cole, The Police, Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart, MJQ, Bruce Springsteen, LP (Laura Pergolizzi).
In the last six months I have become a huge fan of Queen. I mean, really, just how many astrophysicists are rock stars? I particularly enjoyed the "Brighton Rock" solo and the preceding improv at Wembley. Once upon a time there was a human voice that could do that.
Food: sushi, sashimi, fish pudding, strawberry and rhubarb pie, steak and kidney pie. :)
