My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
-“The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears, or the sea” - Isak Dinesen

I like to be outdoors to clear my thoughts; sitting on the ocean puts everything in perspective...

-------

A former soldier and now medical student. It's been a quite a trip so far.

I've lived abroad a fair amount of time. Over that time I've learned that I feel most alive when I am out encountering new people, new cultures, new thoughts. I love traveling and seeing what life has to offer.

When I'm not studying or working, I'm as happy going hiking in the mountains as much as I am having drinks on the beach. A quiet night watching movies or a road trip to go explore...I'm interested in living for the moment.

Life is for living, not wondering at what could have happened.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Mostly I'm working full-time during the week as a scribe until school starts.

Time Off: traveling, reading, hitting the gym, and trying to be out in nature more often.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Hard question to answer; I try to be pretty good at lots of things rather than a master of a few.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I suppose you need to ask other people, eh?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

A couple...

Books:
Far too many to list. I love reading. This has gotten to be a significant issue in that I can't find a place to *store* all my books. I ended up using Nook/Kindle and those now have 400 books and counting on them...

Movies:
O Brother Where Art Thou?
Les Miserables
Men of Honor
12 Years a Slave
Glory
The Princess Bride
My Cousin Vinny
The Life Aquatic
The Big Lebowski
Lord of the Rings
When The Last Sword is Drawn
Pan's Labyrinth
Grandma's Boy
The Wind That Shakes the Barley
American History X
Remember the Titans
The Last Samurai
Akira Kurosawa movies
Le Samourai
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
Black Dynamite
K-Pax
Kingdom of Heaven

Shows:
Most documentaries. I don't watch too much tv..hell I don't even own one anymore. Randomly I'll catch a show like Impractical Jokers if its on for a cheap laugh. When I get down, watching nature shows makes me smile for some reason.

Music:
CCR, Tool, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Counting Crows, Dawes, Tom Morello, The Chieftains, Johnny Cash, John Legend and The Roots, Flogging Molly, Radiohead, Muse, Temple of the Dog, Jackson Browne, The Wallflowers, Modest Mouse, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Nirvana, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Collective Soul, Michael Franti, Stone Sour, Seether, Alice in Chains, Decemberists, Phantogram, and most grunge/alt that comes on the radio.

Celtic music, blues/R&B, or classical when I want to chill out.

Food:
My grandmother's cooking (Hungarian)

Thai, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Ethiopian, Mediterranean/Middle Eastern

The best food is the food that's in front of you!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Simple beauty, traveling, pets/animals, learning, good friends, and family (though they can drive me crazy). Not necessarily in that order.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life and where I want it to go. If you don't know who you are or what you are looking for, how do you know you're going the right way?

The meaning of life. What is the purpose of existence, what do people believe and why, etc?

Wishing I was out backpacking in Alaska, Acadia National Park, or the Kancamagus.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Looking for the blue bird of happiness
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That is for my friends, not the Internet.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're someone who is outgoing, cares about helping others, and you want to do things in life...not watch other people do it. You want to have a hell of a lot of fun with someone along the way.

You want to say hello?

---------------

Some ideas:

You see it as perfectly reasonable to say "@#$% it, we're buying cider doughnuts/maple sugar candy/homemade ice cream and taking a drive up to Kennebunkport/Boston/Portland/Montreal."

You would rather do something incredible on a weekend vs watching a ball game on tv.

You're willing to debate the meaning of life over drinks. Or hookah/shisha. Or hummus.
