Moving back to Philly after 3 years of mountain living in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC. Preparing myself to start the path to graduate studies, working on motivation and focus, (and finding a job).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I recently made the decision to move back to Philly to be close to family and dear friends. Still in the transition process and feeling quite unsettled at the moment, but I'm curious as to what is out there in terms of the men folk!

I bake/ cook, make kombucha at home, been on a whole fruits and vegetables smoothie kick recently, and try to read more than I watch Netflix. I am deeply connected to my friends and family. I'm looking to be with someone who understands deep friendship and values open and honest communication while constantly trying to improve upon those skills, even when it is sometimes uncomfortable and painful. I'm very much over bullshit. Life is too short to not speak our truths, ( the wuwu I often find annoying is also what resonates with me most).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening, untying knots, cooking healthy veg food.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Usually people hear me before they see me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercey, The Tracker by Tom Brown Jr., Joyce Carol Oates, anything by Vonnegut, The Giver, The Hand Maid's Tale, (basically any Dystopic fiction), Michael Pollan,Wendell Berry, Noam Chomsky, Paulo Friere, Bukowski. Yeah, I read all the twilight books and you know what, I loved them. Deal with that.

Movies: Anything with Edward Norton; American History X/ Blades of Grass or Johnny Depp- What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Wet Hot American Summer, Clueless, Forrest Gump ( I really like movies that do time over the decades, like Mr. Holland's Opus). Wristcutters, Natural Born Killers, Ferngully.

TV: For someone that doesn't have actual tv running to my tv, (that makes sense, right?), I certainly watch more than my fair share. The Leftovers, True Detective, House of Cards, American Horror Story, Sons of Anarchy ( I love vigilante justice!), The West Wing, Law & Order: SVU, The Office, Parks & Recreation, Arrested Development.

Music: Well, this could take a while. I have an eclectic taste in music which includes most everything minus "Pop Country" and "Death Metal". I love The Grateful Dead very much, Johnny Cash, Jazz, Hip-hop, Reggae, The Decembrists, Prince, Foster The People, MGMT, Erykah Badu, Billy Joel, Brother Ali, Talib Kweli, Mos Def (Yassin), Radio Head, The Flaming Lips, the list goes on...

Food: I'll eat anything except for meat and yellow mustard, unless of course its in deviled eggs, which i absolutely adore! I also despise capers. I've also recently rediscovered the wonder of tuna.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My family
2. Thunder & lightning
3. Tempeh
4. Friends
5. My cats
6. Laughter

Not neccesarily in that order.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The miracle of photosynthesis, the ability of people to constantly shock me, what IS the Internet, post-apocilyptic intentional community, and of course, food.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Laying low, at home eating and laughing with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I lack what some refer to as a "filter" as far as what is appropriate and what is not... I'm also good at acknowledging place and time so I wouldnt necessarily share with your mother upon first meeting her that I'm feeling gassy, unless we connect really quickly ( your mother and I). Lol.

You are an open- minded, caring individual with a sense of humor. Also, I'd prefer if you didn't take yourself toooooo seriously. Being able to acknowledge our own flaws and laugh at ourselves is very important to me.
