My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm "that chick" who's doing "that thing" that certain individuals do when they're attempting to prevent real life from crashing horribly through their living room wall. In a nutshell, I'm an explorer.

My major was East Asian Studies, so I can think of no better place to bar the door against life's wretched knocking for a while. Exploring the world's most populous country, while simultaneously exploring myself. The truth is, I'm not sure what exactly to tell you about me, because the only thing I'm certain of is that my perception of myself will change dramatically in the next year.

For now, I'm an Asia nerd that's thrilled to be in that that area of the world. A southern-fried addict, a bargain-rack fashionista, and a would be pseudo intellectual trying to find her lot in life. On the Western side of things, I fell in love with New York when I went to school there and frequently return to my old haunts.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Finding my way. Pondering Eastern Philosophy. Teaching Asian children the goods. Hopefully exploring some ancient ruin when I'm not in the classroom. Imagining how cool it would be if I could do Martial Arts (which I can't), and bemoaning my laziness and lack of ambition in finding a teacher (which I do very well).

Also, trying to watch as much Anime as humanly possible before I die.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
In no particular order: Building a house that's bigger than yours on The SIMS. No, really. Penning stir of the moment Erotica.Learning Languages. Eatingdecadent desserts. Eating period. Remembering uselessAsian factoids.Dressing myself.Putting my face on. Convincing young children to learn things they don't want to. Wearinghigh heels but preferring Converse.Smiling.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm usually reading something on my Kindle. Seriously, I survive off of it.

So, I'm going to go with generalizations, elsewise this list would go on forever.

Neil Gaimen,Stephen King,George R.R Martin,Roald Dahl, Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, Jude Deveroux, Micheal Crighton, Lawrence Yep, Garth Ennis, Frank Miller, Greg Rucka, Jose Luis Borges, Miguel Unamuno, The Brothers Grimm, Maya Angelou, Louisa May Alcott, Dean Koontz, Langston Hughes, John S. Marr, Chen Guidi, Wu Chuntao, Hiyao Miyazaki, Grant Morrison and numerous others.

Anything done byPixar, Star Wars, Star Trek Movies, The A-Team, The Last Samurai, Memoirs of a Geisha, Dreams of Red Chamber, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Most Kung-Fu Movies, Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Ninja Scroll, Akira, All Miyazaki Movies, All Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman movies, Interview with a Vampire, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, Black Dynamite, The Haunting, Karas, Kakurenbo: Hide and Seek, Tekkonkinkreet, Book of Eli, Die Hard movies, Kick-Ass, Batman, Batman Begins, The Reader, Training might have noticed that this list is comprised of a lot of Anime, and mindless action. Disclaimer: I do not take my movies very seriously most of the time. I watch movies to be entertained, not to be depressed, scared witless, or preached to. That said, I can be talked into a well done drama or horror flick on good days.

I don't watch a lot of it, but: House, Sembiotic Titan, Firefly, Community, Conan, CSI (Any location), World's Deadliest Warrior, 1000 Ways to Die, Life, Blue Planet, I Survived, and select other shows.

I prefer things with a beat, but abhor most rap. With music, however, I'm a pretty open book. Just play it and I'll tell you straight up if I like or dislike it. I'm particularly fond of old jazz, big band, hip-hop, reggaeton, salsa, bachata, some country, and certain rock bands. A sampling of Artists on my ipod: Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, The Beatles, Muddy Waters, Kumbia Kings, Daddy Yankee, Norah Jones, Micheal Buble, Zac Brown Band, Utada Hikaru, and Daft Punk.

I'm allergic to coconut, and certain weird brands of jelly. Other than that, bring it on. My life's a food adventure.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
(1) Creme Brulee
(2) My immediate family
(3) China
(4) My Kindle
(5) High Heels
(6) Body pillows
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
World Issues, traveling, languages, why Grant Morrison is such an effing good writer, why I never finish any of the novels I start, Georgia, Vietnam, how to better my Chinese, Ghiradeli White chocolate with vanilla bean.... Mmmmmm....
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably at my favorite bar, chatting it up with the bartender with a Jameson Ginger in hand. Or else at dinner with friends telling China anecdotes. :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't go chasing waterfalls, but I don't really stick to the rivers and lakes that I'm used to, either.
