My self-summary
"Ah, computer dating. It's like pimping but you rarely have to use the phrase 'upside your head.'"

Sagittarius. Year of the Tiger. INTJ. My friends tell me that if this were Hogwarts I'd be in Slytherin. I find myself agreeing with them more and more lately.
What I’m doing with my life
In the south again after finishing up grad school in New York.
I’m really good at
Traveling. Highlights are Hungary, India (Gujarat mostly), Mexico (Yucatan specifically), and I taught in Taiwan for a year. I just finished grad school in New York and haven't gotten to travel as much as I like in the last couple years.

I have a superpower for finding coffeeshops. And for removing commas.

I also run a lot and I'm training for my second triathlon. And a Tough Mudder if geography is on my side.
The first things people usually notice about me
People don't often say it but I'm pretty sure it's the nose. If I haven't shaved they notice that my beard is red. Often I've been accused of looking like Dmitri Martin or John Oliver from The Daily Show. I don't see it but I'll assume it's a compliment.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV: Sherlock, Battlestar Galactica, Community, Doctor Who. Stuff trendy among young liberals. I've also watched every episode of Pushing Daisies but can't bring myself to finish the last episode.

Movies: The Red Shoes. Network. Wonder Boys. The Thing. In the Mood for Love. O Brother Where Art Thou. Kind of in love with Cocteau and Tati.

Books: The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down. Moby Dick. Invisible Cities. All the King's Men. Faulkner, Atwood, Morrison, Flannery O'Connor. I'm working on my first John McPhee book and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

I tend to stick to vegetarian unless something catches my eye. Once before I had nutria but I don't know where to find it now. The most interesting food I've eaten recently - goose intestine, chicken hearts, kangaroo tenderloin. I assume it was tenderloin. I'm not sure how many of those I'd eat again.
The six things I could never do without
Coffee
Green tea (trying more matcha lately, plus lots of oolong)
Evernote
Running shoes
Passport
Sonic screwdriver
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anthropology. Cooking. Social issues. History. Art. I also spend a lot of time talking about these things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Mistaking the drowsy eye alcohol warning for a winking eye alcohol suggestion. Lucille Bluth is my spirit animal.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I caught 'em all.

And I've never read Strunk and White.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 24–32
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You can carry on a conversation. You want to meet in real life. You're a grown up and not a flake. Cowardice is a turn off, friends are welcome.

Alternately if you want to play Halo (any) or Mario Kart (N64 only).
