I am exciting, dull, and contradictory.

My Self-Summary

I'm an Illustrator turned Animator attending Columbia College Chicago. I used to go to NIU in Dekalb. Too much corn.

I live in the city now, and I only see corn in the produce section or popped on my stove. Perfect.

What I’m doing with my life

A few weeks ago I was working day and night on an animated short for a jean company's fundraiser to help fight breast cancer. It was pretty exciting and I'm proud of the end product!

I go to many, probably too many, Blackhawks games. I love hockey, and seeing it live is a blast. So happy the season is starting up!

I’m really good at

Challenging people, challenging myself, drawing people on the train, painting, making people laugh, the occasional game of horseshoes, rolling a gutter ball then throwing a 10 pin spare, B52's karaoke, doing the robot in elevators, surprises, doing the wave with my stomach, simply looking at people and manufacturing elaborate character descriptions and fictional stories, rambling.

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my build. I'm on the muscly side.

The first day at a restaurant job I had, all the mexican cooks called me mamadote the moment they saw me. I really had no clue what it meant. Thanks 9th grade level Spanish. I figured it out pretty quickly due to the regularity of arm wrestling proposals.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The Giving Tree

The Iron Giant, The Big Lebowski, Airplane, LOTR series, Pan's Labyrinth, Traffic, The Brave Little Toaster

The Stooges, The Who, Grizzly Bear, Man Man, Crosby Stills and Nash, The Clash, Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, Frank Zappa, Fleet Foxes, The Tallest Man On Earth, Pearl Jam, WuTang, The Band, MF DOOM, Beck, Black Keys, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, RATATAT, Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, Battles, Bo Diddley, Television, P-funk.

I like food. I love good food.
Sushi, Mexican, Italian, Spanish, Mediterranean, Thai, and BBQin'.

The six things I could never do without

competition, pencil, paper, my italian parsley plant, company, cold beer.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

- What I'm going to cook next.
- Graduating.
- What I'm going to eat next.
- Why don't have Point Break on DVD?
- Should I get a hair cut?
- Do I even trust my barber? She has an identical twin that works at the same shop. I mean, who is who?
- Whether or not gravity on Mars can support human life in the long term, with out negative effects such as diminishing bone mass.

On a typical Friday night I am

I usually go out and tip back a few cold ones with friends, loved ones, or people's company I enjoy. Occasionally just stay in, cook, and watch a movie type thing. But no matter what I'm doing I'm trying to block out the thought of my saturday morning history class.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I used to love cherries. When I was 5 years old I would climb a cherry tree every day in the summer for a snack. I loved them. One time I tried to explore a new route ascending the tree and I got wedged between two branches for 4 hours. I convinced myself I was going to die if I didn't eat every cherry I could wrap my stumpy fingers around. I must have had 200 of them. Today I just tolerate cherries.

you got this far.
