I am an idealist, a quiet thinker, and still a dork.

My Self-Summary

Its a new year, meaning its time for a refresh on how I have changed from 2009. (However, I admit to still being a sarcastic dork.

I've recently discovered a love for traveling, even though I have yet to travel outside of the country. I just finished a train trip from Colorado to California. It was simply amazing! I'm looking for my next "simple" destination until I am ready to try things outside of the country. My other new interest has been museums, I can't seem to get enough of them. There are some incredible stories that get told in the stroke of a brush. (or click of a mouse..)

Describing myself on here isn't easy, I am far better at conversation. I will give this a try to give you some idea of who I am.

I have a conflict within myself between the adult life I feel I am supposed to have, and the one I am choosing to have. (Which is more fun). I am returning to school very soon in order to get a degree in communications, in order to be a teacher and to help students unlock the ability to feel comfortable with saying what is on their mind. (Whats really on their mind)

What I’m doing with my life

Currently, I work as the HR Manager for a security company in San Jose while returning to school for a communications degree so I can someday be a teacher or a stand up philosopher. (one of those career choices is a joke, and if you know the movie reference then you need to message me, like now.). I also spend a lot time playing drums as a member of a marching drum and bugle corps. I enjoy re-living my high school band nerd days, and the passion that goes with creating something incredible.

I’m really good at

Telling stories and getting really animated while I do it. It probably has something to do with my history with Sign Language and my love for good conversation.
I'm also really good at reviewing movies, getting lost in conversations about nothing and everything, making really bad jokes, and intentionally getting lost on the road. (the best way to explore in my opinion. It's a good thing I have GPS to find my way back home. heh)

The first things people usually notice about me

I've been told that it's my eyes and my smile (when I am more comfortable around someone, I've been told that I show more of my personality.)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Movies: Big Fish - SciFi - Classic Marx Brothers - American Beauty - Princess Bride - Ferris Bueller - Batman - Shawshank Redemption - Lord of the Rings - Avatar - Star Wars - Star Trek - One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest - Cube - Anything Kevin Smith - A Beautiful Mind - Anything Batman, except Clooney and Kilmer - Mr. Hollands Opus - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - and probably more that I can't think of at the moment. I'm really big into any movie that tells a good story and inspires me to write.

Book: I just finished reading 'The Alchemist', and that book is life changing. Before that was Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff. (A lighthearted take on religion.) However, I have been finding myself interested in books about people who follow dreams. (My mom got me Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.... yes, "And Zombies".... anyone read this yet?)

Music: Aerosmith - Guns N Roses - most 80's - Much 90's - Anything but Rap and Country. (although not a deal breaker)

Foods - Sadly, due to a genetic defect on my mothers Polish heritage, I can't handle anything spicy. However, I love Asian foods, Italian, non-spicy mexican, random foods made in a pot, In-N-Out, Sushi, and any other food that tastes good but is probably bad for me.

The six things I could never do without

My drum
My friends
My witts
Laptop, or something I can use to write with
My Future
The art of the world
My left pinky toe. (the right one is optional)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Random things; things that probably make no sense at all but are fun to muse about. I also spend a lot of time figuring out how I'm going to manage work, school, and drum corps.

I spend many hours looking forward to my future and making it happen. It has been what drives me.

On a typical Friday night I am

Is there a typical Friday night? I can be doing any number of things, except clubs. I just don't like clubs anymore.

Most of the time I am with friends playing music or just enjoying the common (nerd) interests... heh. If I have nothing else do do, I'm playing retro Nintendo games or falling of roads in Mario Kart.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

It wouldn't be private if I wrote it here. I guess people will have to ask.

Edit: I will admit that after having the profile for months, I'm still finding spelling and grammar errors....

You should message me if

If you like really bad one-liners that cause your eyes to roll. Or even to make a new friend with someone who is a really good guy and not a creep. (and if it turns into something more, even better.)

I really like people who see the world as an art form; a free spirit. This can be in pictures, music, words, dance... anything. If you are one of those types of people, then I want to meet you.

I want to engage with the type of people that I can go to museums with, talk about the things we just experienced or have just seen, because that's just cool.
