I am a full-time single father(1 boy/1 girl) living in Fruitland Park, FL. I am a homeowner, a pet owner(two dogs), and I volunteer on the board of directors for Lady Lake Little League. I'm a movie and restaurant fan and like to stay active. I enjoy trips to the beach and theme parks and occasional visits to bars/clubs when I have 'adult time'....although I'm not much of a bar person. I also like to have quiet nights and can be easily amused by a simple board or card game. I stay in shape and am not big on junk food - although I'm far from being a health freak.

I'm originally from MA, but moved to FL when I was 13. I left when I was 20 for the Air Force and ended up living in TX, CA, and eventually Minot, ND where I stayed for about 3 1/2 years. Once my enlistment was up I spent a few years in MO before returning to FL in 2004. Having lived on every side of the country, and visiting most of the places in between, I still have to say that the New England area is where I'd like to end up. My dream home would be an over-sized log cabin with a big fireplace, lots of land, and a mountain view.

I like to travel and am hoping to do a bit more of it in the future. My next travel goal is to spend a week in Iceland. There's just something relaxing about the thought of steaming yourself in a naturally heated lake surrounded by ice-capped mountains. A few other places I'd like to visit down the road include Venice, Egypt, Chile, and Australia.

Currently I work as an office manager in Fruitland Park. I do also write, but its mainly just a hobby at this point. I'm also constantly remodeling my house and probably have a good 2 years left before I'm completely finished with it. But once I am I'd love to sell it and build a new larger home. One that won't require ANY remodeling for a long, long time. I also like to participate in community activities when I can, which is why I volunteer for Little League. I mainly started that just to coach my kids' T-ball team so that I could be involved with that part of their lives, but stuck with it for the past 2 years and am now sitting on the board of directors where I can make a larger contribution.

I tend to be a highly creative person. I'm one of those people who doesn't excel at anything specific, but is capable of doing a wide range of random things. I can cook, play guitar, juggle, decorate cakes(not a very manly talent but I have kids that demand birthday cakes...so its ok), and I have a knack for movie trivia - just to name a few.

This is a little tough - I suppose it depends on the person who's looking. Some people would say it my dry humor, others may notice more physical characteristics. I've been told arms, hands, eyes, and lips(which seemed odd to me). But I guess it depends on you. Usually what people first notice is what they normally tend to look for in the first place.

I'm mainly a rock rock fan but have a pretty diverse collection of music that spans over about 6 decades. The only thing you wouldn't find in my collection is country. I primarily listen to classic rock these days, but also enjoy some of the harder or more alternative bands from my high school, college, and military years. I also have a shameful addiction to Simon and Garfunkel and Neil Diamond. But that's not my fault - my mother brain washed me at a very young age.

As far as movies, books, and food go - I like to try everything.

Some movies I like: The Long Kiss Goodnight; Predator; The Big Lebowski; When Harry Met Sally; Session 9; The Dark Crystal; Any of the early Muppet Movies(which are MUCH different when you watch them as an adult); Reign Over Me

The last few books I read are: Prey(Michael Crichton), Andromeda Strain(Michael Crichton), Uncle Tom's Cabin(Harriot B. Stowe); and the vampire trilogy by Jeanne Kalogridis which follows the original Dracula story line from different perspectives and begins 50 years prior to Bram Stoker's novel.

When it comes to food I'll eat almost anything that I haven't tried yet. That would be part of my adventurous side. I'm also a big fan of spicey and ethnic foods.

My children always have to come first: Although most people are able to respect that, there are some who have a hard time dealing with it.

My morning coffee: When I open my office in the morning people generally steer clear of me until I get a least one cup in me.

Money: Yes its shameful but unfortunately also necessary. As the saying goes; "money isn't everything - unless you don't have any".

Family: I have a large, close extended family. We get together pretty frequently and, like most families, they're completely bonkers.

Friends: Although I have a number of acquaintances in FL, most of my very close friends live elsewhere. That's one of the reasons I ended up creating this profile - it's difficult to meet new people when you don't have a local 'social circle' to go out with.

Entertainment: I always have to be entertained. I don't care if its music, a movie, a game, or dancing around the house with my kids wearing tin-foil crowns. Ok - that last one only happened once. But really - once is enough for that, don't you think?

I'm well-known for having very random thoughts. I've been told in the past that listening to me is like watching a really bizarre episode of Seinfeld. I chose to take that as a compliment, regardless of how it may have been intended.

At least one night of the weekend my children have sleep-overs with family allowing me to have adult time. On those nights I'll do just about anything that gets me out of the house for a few hours. Of course there are also those REALLY exciting weekends when I do something completely crazy....like laundry.

Well if I post too much information on here then we'll have nothing to talk about. So you'll just have to work your way up to that. But I'm not a very secretive person - I'll answer any questions you can think of when the time comes.
