My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Update: I am now seeing someone but am leaving this profile up for anyone who wishes to contact me to make friends.

TL;DR: Geeky, loving, and affectionate audiophile looking for meaningful relationship with someone of similar interests and genuine personality.

My name is Ed. Nerd, geek, wizard - I am called many things. I am an audio engineer by trade and passion with a penchant for tech. Though I don't play as much as I'd like to anymore, I am definitely a gamer (mostly PC) and am a big sci-fi and film buff. Star Wars, LotR, Harry Potter, you name it.

I crave genuine, insightful, and thought provoking conversation. It can be about something serious like politics or a heated debate regarding whether or not Frodo could have just ridden an eagle to Mt. Doom and have been done with it. Challenge me!

More than anything I am an audiophile. Most people say they like music. I know more about the nature and physics of sound waves than you will want to hear about. Most of the time I ply my trade at work doing audio restoration for digitized analog media or doing audio for film with friends/colleagues but my real passion lies in music production. There are few things in life that match the sensation of polishing the raw coal that is musical creativity into a gleaming diamond of a well produced song. I love working with musicians because they constantly challenge you to adapt to their style and it keeps it interesting. I would like nothing more than to own and operate my own recording studio and just do that until the end of my days.

I'm looking for a serious, genuine, loving relationship with someone to share adventures with. Should be nerdy/geeky/dorky, moderately creative, be possessing of a fun, loving, and affectionate disposition, able to see through bullshit from a mile away, and drive me to do things I never thought possible.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently, I work as lead audio technician and assistant to the systems manager at DVD Your Memories where I digitize old analog media and provide digital audio enhancement services for clients/customers. My plan is to save up enough cash to attend the Conservatory of Recording Arts, complete the program, and find myself a job in the field of film or music as a recording engineer.

Tool/A Perfect Circle, Deftones, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Dresden Dolls, Bonobo, The Kills, The XX, Portishead, Blues Traveler, Incubus, The Presets, Simon Posford, Nero, Glitch Mob, The Faint, Tycho, Burial, Jack White, Gorillaz, Miike Snow, Robert Johnson, Rob Zombie, Rammstein, Foster the People, Arcade Fire, Dead Prez, Aesop Rock, Kings of Leon, Empire of the Sun, Parov Stelar, Caravan Palace

There's really way too much to continue listing so I'll summarize by saying that I have a very expansive taste in music (as an audio engineer it behooves me to broaden my horizons). The only music I have difficulties enjoy are new age country, gangster rap (not to be confused with hip hop), certain branches of metal, and a hefty chunk of club/pop music.

I tend to have a hard time enjoying plant-based foods but I like to try new things when offered the chance. Being mostly Irish I seem to have inherited an undying love of potatoes. I really dig Indian food. I'll never pass up Italian. As with any native of the southwest I have a cultured taste for Mexican food (or at least what we call Mexican on this side of the border). While I can be picky about some things I'll try anything once so long as it doesn't look like it'll give me a heart attack just by looking at it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A good stereo system
Internet access
Someone to talk to and cuddle with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. I have an anxiety problem that I am working very hard on curbing. The countless stresses of life - social, financial, academic, etc. - are almost constantly on my mind. I do what I can to push past it and focus on the more important things, like being happy. It's a tough road to walk but I take another step every day.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Watching movies, playing video games, spending quality time and/or getting into trouble with my closest compatriots.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm sapiosexual.

And I built a lightsaber. It doesn't work yet but I'm making progress.
