My self-summary
I'm only looking for platonic friends at the moment, as things are a little crazy for me right now. I'd rather hold off on dating until things settle down. I may be open to something more physical with women, but that's about it. Making friends is actually very important right now, as a good number of mine have either moved in the past year or plan on doing so in the fairly near future. I like having a few people to hang out with in person.

So, on to the non-dating about me section. I'm a bit of an oddball. I'm happily childfree by choice, a "casual goth" (I wear a lot of black but rarely dress up in stereotypical goth fashion,) and I place a lot of value in good grammar, literacy, and intelligence.
I'm Pagan, and also genderqueer. I identify as female on a physical level, and as male on a mental level.
I'm highly introverted, and I would much rather read a book than go to a loud party. I adore people on an individual basis, but I really don't do well with large crowds.

I like to spend my free time writing, reading, tinkering with beadwork, experimenting with cooking, listening to music, and spending time with friends. I also read tarot cards, although I haven't really practiced much lately. I'm a music junkie, and I'm nearly always listening to something new.

I haven't quit cigarettes 100% and probably won't, but I rarely smoke them anymore and prefer my hookah. I am also 420 friendly, though I am not a huge smoker there either.

People always seem to tell me that I'm not smiling when I actually am, or they tell me I have a Mona Lisa smile. It's funny, really.

I've really been craving the company of other goths lately. It seems there really aren't that many of us here in Tucson.

I'd also love to meet other Pagans, writers, geeks, introverts, metalheads, and childfree people. None of these are absolutely required for a friendship, however. :) I'm far more interested in what you're like as a person, and whether we can have a fun, intelligent conversation. I need to be able to feel some sort of connection, and I won't respond to messages that really don't say anything at all.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm planning on self-publishing some books of poetry. I'm also planning on learning to write lyrics, and writing a webcomic at some point.
I’m really good at
Writing haikus.

Piping in with a "that's what she said!" at all the worst/best times.

Making friends with cats.

Making an awesome loaf of beer bread.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Harry Potter series, His Dark Materials trilogy, A Song of Ice and Fire series, 1984, Sword of Truth series, dystopian fiction, fantasy novels, pretty much anything by George Carlin.
Movies: Accepted, V for Vendetta, God Bless America, Ip Man series, Role Models, A Clockwork Orange, Cloud Atlas, Queen of the Damned, Office Space, Waiting...
Shows: South Park, Game of Thrones, Myth Busters, House, Futurama, Community, Breaking Bad, Daria
Music: Heavy metal of all kinds, hard rock, some classic rock, gothic music, industrial, punk, darkwave, EBM and aggrotech. Japanese stuff is fun too.
My favorite bands right now would have to be (in no particular order:) Nightwish, Moonspell, Fields of the Nephilim, and Danzig.
Food: Sushi, sashimi, Asian food in general, and sweet food are all pretty awesome. Pizza, bacon, fruit, roast beef, avocados and bell peppers are excellent as well. And food made with beer is always tasty, I just don't like the drink by itself, although I do enjoy nearly every other form of alcohol known to man.
The six things I could never do without
Friendship, kitties, music, bondage, my writing, and laughter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How badly I need some intelligent conversation.

What color I might dye my hair next, when I get the chance.

Do most people honestly have nothing more interesting going on in their heads than "hi how r u?"

Why is it that everybody sees datura flowers as something to get high off of, and not a beautiful plant to admire like any other?

Why do people talk about Nickelback like they're the worst band in existence? Sure, they're kinda lame, but we've got garbage like Justin Bieber, ICP, Kesha, Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit and the bitch responsible for "Call Me Maybe." Nickelback is nothing by comparison.

What I could possibly do to help change things so that workers are protected from being fucked over on hours, and how the details of such reform might work.

Demonia boots. *Drooooooools*
On a typical Friday night I am
Unwinding after work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I absolutely cannot stand when people refuse to capitalize their "I"s.

I'm a little socially awkward as a result of having social anxiety, as well as being homeschooled early in life. I tend to rely a little too heavily on TV/movie references as a social crutch, but I get along with nerds so I guess it kind of works. :)
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 21–38
  • Near me
  • For new friends
You should message me if
-You think we could be good friends.
-If you want to swap music and suggest new bands to check out, or if you want to talk about writing.
-If you're also childfree (though it's by no means a requirement for platonic friendships.)
-If you want someone to play Scrabble or Apples to Apples with.
-If you're a fan of George Carlin or Egyptology.

Please do NOT message me if you are homophobic, biphobic, transphobic, or any of that kind of ridiculous bullshit.

I also won't respond if you think my looks are a basis for friendship. Please go look up the definition of the word "platonic."
