Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Imagine, if you will, that you have unlimited time, money, and
talent. Can you list 20 things that you would do with your life? My
sister asked me that question several years ago. I took it to heart
and have tried to use it as a framework for my goals and dreams
In keeping with one of the most important goals on my list, I’ve
traveled with the desire to really experience the places I’ve
visited. Every destination has something to offer; different sites,
smells, interactions, and adventures. I try to take a “big” trip
every two years, but it has been almost four since my last. If you
really enjoy travel then you can definitely relate to my quandary.
And, if you really enjoy travel as much as I, then I’m sure you’ve
thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice to just take a fun, relaxed trip with
that wonderful “other” person?” If you’re a good travel companion,
then you get extra points!
As for my personality, I often think I’m a study in contradictions.
Maybe that has something to do with my being a Libra who always
seeks balance in life. I grew up on a farm but I love to explore
the world. I’m fairly well educated, but I don’t think I have the
ambition to find a cure for cancer. Since leaving home, I’ve lived
in apartments in several different cities, but I love home
improvement projects and would love to have a place in the country.
I know how to change the oil in my car but I have the wisdom to
know that it’s worth $20 to have someone else do it. I love my
family, but I have a much closer relationship with my friends. I’m
41 years old, but I still love to read comic books and
Ultimately, I would want anyone reading my profile to come away
with the understanding that I embrace life with passion. No matter
our beliefs, I feel that we get only one life in this form, with
this freedom. I want to explore and experience as much as I can. It
would be great to meet someone who shares that same view. So, if
you have something about which you are really passionate, tell me
about it and I’ll tell you about mine. At the very least, it should
make for an interesting dinner conversation. Who knows? Maybe that
exchange of ideas and goals is something we can build into a
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a Geographer. In my mid-30's, I went back for my Masters and
have worked as a Cartographer since graduation. I lived near DC for
three years and have just recently moved back to Tennessee. I've
been making money as a consultant, so I'm thinking about making
that a full-time business. After all, life is an adventure so as
long as I enjoy my work and make good money, why not pursue it?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Haha! I can't help but wonder what kinds of crazy things people
write in this section. However, to keep it PG-rated, I'll say that
I'm really good at anything I enjoy doing. I'm good at fixing
things, houses in particular. I'm good at working on cars, but I
have the wisdom to know that I would rather pay a professional if
the price is fair. I'm also really good at making maps and I rarely
get lost (the whole Geography thing).
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
First thing is probably my eyes. But, I'm usually smiling, as well.
Message me and maybe you can find out for yourself.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite books are mainly in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre, but I love
the "Dirk Pitt" series by Clive Cussler, as well. My favorite movie
of all time is "Raiders of the Lost Ark", hands down. As for music,
I would say that my favorite genre is World Music. I enjoy
listening to almost anything except Rap. I don't really have any
cultural frame of reference for life in the inner-city, so it
doesn't really speak to me. As for food, I'll eat just about
anything except Thai food. That stuff can melt steel so I have no
desire to try to ingest it again.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A sense of adventure, a good pocket knife, comfortable shoes, good
friends, a passport, and a great travel partner.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I would like to go on my next trip or trying to figure out if
I can actually make money mining gold. I really like to daydream of
adventurous ways to make money.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Going on a date, hanging out with my friends, camping, watching a
movie, or packing for a trip.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I detest spiders. I try to be fascinated by them, but, ultimately,
they give me the creeps.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are cute, funny, even-tempered, and have a sense of adventure.
I don't think staying at an all-inclusive resort constitutes
travel, so if you aren't afraid to explore the world, then message
me. Maybe we can at least have a nice dinner and laugh about the
crazy things we've done.
