My self-summary
I’ve always been a nerd at heart, but I like to think I cover it up well. I’m not a hipster, but most of my friends are. Just moved back to Philly from DC and seriously need to update this silly profile!

I am open-minded, sarcastic, and a bit mysterious
What I’m doing with my life
Do you really want to hear about this? Heh. Most eyes glaze over when people talk about their work, right? Feel free to ask, though.

I've got an exciting job and some fairly exciting hobbies and I dream everyday about doing them in a more exciting place. Philadelphia's great and I love it to pieces, but I really need to get off the beaten path.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Wow, this category is a whopper...

BOOKS: I’m not sure why, but I’ve always loved Russian lit. Pushkin and Dostoyevsky are my two favs in this category. Outside of that, it’s hard to narrow down. The last two books I read were a collection of F.Scott Fitzgerald short stories and “The End of the Affair” by Graham Greene.

MOVIES:
In general I like classics, foreign movies, indie films, and….I hesitate to add…I have a weakness for sci-fi flicks. Cheesy comedies and the hilariously low-budget are fun too.
A few that come to mind are Chinatown, Trainspotting, Bladerunner, Brazil, almost anything by Kubrick, the Sergio Leone Westerns, the great escape, cool hand luke, any Truffaut, Godard, Bergman….Dolemite, 80’s john cusack + brat pack movies, and on and on.

MUSIC:
These days you’ll usually catch me listening to Air, Goldfrapp, or the new Charlotte Gainsbourg and Gorillaz albums (so addictive). I love to sing along with The Divine Comedy or The Magnetic Fields. Any brit-pop is great too (Pulp, Blur, etc). Depending on my mood, bowie, velvet underground, the kinks or the pixies are always in the rotation. And of course, I’m a sucker for the canon of rock n’ roll: beatles, stones, Hendrix, zeppelin, cream, floyd, etc.
10 bonus points for you if you’ve ever heard of ‘momus,’ whether you like him or not ☺
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes...I make terrariums...seriously.

Anything here piques your interest and you'd like to go out sometime. I'm not really hugely into internet-type stuff but I've usually got a good idea for an actual date.
