I like to play games, read books and watch movies. I enjoy thinking about how things work and I love to understand new material.
When I watch a movie with friends, I like talking about problems with the plot or with details of the film. I have a lot of opinions that I like to share and debate. I enjoy writing, my hope is to complete a novel one day. I've started two different stories and at the rate I'm finishing them, I expect my grandchildren will be able to read them (if kids are still reading then).
I consider myself a transhumanist. It is my fondest hope that one day science will cure all ailments, aging included, and we will all be able to live in bliss without really needing to work or do anything we don't want to. Essentially, that science will create a heaven for us, on Earth.
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently employed by a nearby software company. I am
(hopefully) accruing sufficient resources to continue a comfortable
existence until the day of my death (or in the event of the
invention of immortality - forever(this assumes we can somehow stop
the heat-death of the universe (I have some ideas))).
I also think up outlines and plots to stories which I record for
the day in the future when I will become a successful novelist.
Sometimes I write elaborate plans for programs that I will write in
the distant future.
I’m really good at
Computers do what I tell them to.
Identifying my own mistakes (not quite as good at correcting them,
but getting there).
Imagining things from other people's point of view.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am tall, thin and wear glasses. If my hair isn't cut really short
then it is really messy. I get the impression people tend to think
I'm a nerd or that I'm smart (I blame the glasses) by looking at
me. I guess sometimes you can judge a book by its cover.

4. Dining out
6. This list
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Destiny, ethics, politics, current events, how to commit crimes and
get away with them, TV show plots, the fate of the human race, how
computer programs work, global warming and investing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out playing cards, at a theater, at home watching a movie over take
out or enjoying a good book and a hot bath.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I frequently provide sound effects to my actions without conscious
thought. I discovered this trait while in college - after a year of
teaching an introductory Computer Science course, I overheard two
students talking about me, discussing how I always said "FWOOOSH"
whenever I erased the whiteboard. Incidentally, this is also the
same noise I make when going through a door if someone is holding
it open for me.
