I am a divorced father of a 13 year old son who I seldom see. I have learned to live with the pain of my separation from him and hope to be able to have a better relationship with him in the future.

I hope to have a real relationship based on mutual understanding and attraction, intelligent exchanges of ideas and the sharing of goals/aspirations in the future. I am, now, willing to strike out as many times as it takes to have one. Hopefully, I can swing enough to hit a home run. I am only looking for one and if I can get a home run on my third "at bat" I would happily "retire" from the dating world and enter a new, better phase of my life.

I was desperately trying to get a job after being downsized in corporate finance 3 years ago. I work, under the table for my brother-in-law and occasionally for temp agencies so I get by. But I am working full time trying to get another job and I am willing to do almost anything. My goal is to work as a self employed software developer by becoming a computer programmer. The idea of starting over, more or less, at age 43, in a new career is a challenging one to accept, but I know that I have the drive, determination and ability to achieve it. I am using self study and the internet, WorkSource, and advice from computer programmer friends to teach myself programming.

I would move to Canada and attend The University of British Columbia in Vancouver for two years if I had the right motivation. The school has a second bachelor's degree in computer science that I am interested in.

I am a Canadian because I was born before 1976 to a mother who was/ is a Canadian. I became a Canadian, about 10 years ago, as a joke. My mom's side of the family still lives, mostly, in Alberta, and I thought it would be funny to be able to tell horrible Canadian jokes and use the punch line, "You cannot be offended, I am Canadian too and the joke does not bother me."
The jokes turned out to not be as funny as I thought nor their reactions.

Home alone. I do not go out very much and spend my time reading, surfing the web and watching movies at home.

I take care of people. I was raised to love and care for my younger siblings. If you are more than 7 years younger than me, I will have a really hard time seeing you as anything other than a "little sister."

you have had or want to have a child before age 35. I am not interested in people who make drinking alcoholic beverages an important part of their lives. If you have a picture of yourself drinking alcohol that means it is an important part of your life.
