My self-summary
I'm the kind of person who puts their mind to something and makes it happen- from my work, which I love, to looking out for my friends. I've just moved to NYC, living on the upper east side, but I'm originally from Dublin, Ireland.

I'm fairly eclectic in my approach to life. I like keeping fit by cycling and running. But what I get really excited by is learning new things. Luckily I get to do this for a living as I work in a university. If I were on a wildlife show, David Attenborough would describe my natural state as looking stuff up on the internet.

What am I looking for? (why isn't this a section on its own? )

Someone to talk with about all the big important things, and all the small unimportant, dumb, silly, or nerdy things.
Someone to explore with (home or abroad).
Someone to play boardgames and computer games with, someone to watch Avatar the legend of Aang with, over and over and over again.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a PhD in Genetics and currently work as a bioinformatician. It involves a lot programming, some statistics and a lot of drinking tea. I may not stay in this area forever. I've also got a background in software development. I tend to tinker with various projects in my spare time.
I’m really good at
Doing what needs doing. I tend to be quite straight forward and reliable and I can get bored if I'm not occupied with something or the other. Luckily this is quite a useful skill in science! I'm also curious about the world in general and tend to find all sorts of information interesting.

I used to be really good at finding Wally (or Waldo in the US). But that skill just doesn't seem to be as relevant these days...
The first things people usually notice about me
